This unique tool, developed in collaboration with the company ImmoSign, is an additional step to support small craft companies in the building industry towards a digital transition adapted to the needs of the profession. Note that the first 300 contracts will be offered by CAPEB to its members concerned.
Jean-Christophe Repon, President of CAPEB : “In the health context we are experiencing, it has never been so urgent to accelerate the digitization of the building crafts sector. This is why, as part of the update of the Contract for the Construction of a Single-Family Home (CCMI), CAPEB wished to innovate by developing a new 100% digital and intelligent tool, the first and only on the market. ! This tool will save companies time and allow them to engage in the digital transition on a long-term basis. It is also a further step towards CSR since the contract thus drafted will be more intelligible and transparent for the customer. In addition, companies that so wish may also choose to include a clause specifying that they will endeavor to participate in the local economy by using a workforce close to regional sites and materials. "
A smart contract with online assistance to facilitate the process for craftsmen
This device allows users to complete the contract for the construction of a single-family house, made compulsory by the law of 1990, online in a completely personalized way and adapted to the work to be built. The digitization of this device allows the craftsman to be guided throughout his process thanks to online assistance which helps the craftsman to fill in the clauses. Concretely, elements of information are provided at each stage of the form by the craftsman in order to allow the automatic and intelligent drafting of his contract as close as possible to the realities on the ground (ex: is the geotechnical study obligatory according to the zone? geographical? If so, what steps and how to go about it?), which represents a significant time saving for building contractors. In addition, the contract as drafted by CAPEB and ImmoSign, is understandable for all non-lawyers, craftsmen or customers.
Craftsmen will be informed of how this new tool works in early May 2021 thanks to dedicated webinars organized with departmental CAPEBs in partnership with ImmoSign employees present in the region. These will be able to manage account openings and closings for the benefit of their members (or non-member companies if they wish, according to the conditions they will define) and explain to companies how to easily use this tool. A hotline, based in Caen, is also planned to support users if necessary. Once the user's account is opened, the business manager can use this tool without any time limit or the number of uses.
Irwin Baron, Legal Director of ImmoSign: “For a long time, the legal has been considered as 'something which prevents', which constrains business. This is how we come across these pages blackened with clauses whose content no one knows or reads anymore. Things are changing thanks to digital! Today, LegalTechs help make legal drafting and the application of law intuitive on a daily basis. From a time-consuming constraint, legal becomes a driving force for the company. It contributes to its good administration, to a peaceful relationship with the client, and even to opening up new markets. However, these tools should be democratized and accessible to all companies. This is our reason for existing, at ImmoSign: to offer efficient tools whatever the size of the company, as we do today for the craftsmen and small companies of the CAPEB. This intelligent CCMI will allow the opening of the regulated market for the construction of houses, to reassure as to the good legal management of the sites and to reassure the contractors as their customers. What, we hope, to reverse the trend and offer the legal opportunity to become a chance for all. "
