Polyplac lining complexes make it possible to achieve continuous insulation indoors by combining performance and productivity during installation.
The new Knauf Polyplac offer reduces the number of references by 60% in order to favor the most efficient Knauf solutions, both in terms of thermal insulation and environmental requirements (RE2020). Knauf will no longer offer lining complexes with white EPS, in favor of gray EPS solutions offering a better thermal resistance/carbon footprint ratio. This new Polyplac offer is also intended to be comprehensive, in order to guarantee a response to any type of project. This rationalization simplifies the choice of dubbing products and facilitates the creation of tender files. On the distributor side, they will benefit from the same logic, from simplified management of their stocks at points of sale.
Finally, on the business and craftsman side, the benefits will be particularly reflected in the new Polyplac Phonik offer. Indeed, thanks to the continuous improvement work carried out within its Research & Development unit, Knauf has reduced the weight of each Polyplac Phonik panel (standard finish) by up to 10 kg compared to the old range (e.g. 39 kg for a lining with a thickness of 13 + 120 mm and a length of 3,00 m vs. 49 kg previously), while preserving performances enabling it to meet each configuration provided for by the Qualitel Acoustique standard (doubling category Th-A or Th-A+). These acoustic performances have also been tested and validated by the CSTB. This reduction in weight, resulting in greater ease of handling, allows for greater installation comfort as well as increased safety on site. This innovation also has a reduced environmental impact since it requires less material and energy for its manufacture and transport.
So that the implementation is carried out with the same level of quality requirements, the manufacturer offers a 100% Knauf system, including an adhesive mortar (Knauf Mak 3) ensuring rapid and durable fixing of the insulation complexes. This offer is completed with joint tapes or even coatings intended for jointing, finishing and powder surfacing (Knauf Proplak Snow®) or ready to use (Knauf Proplak®).
Other advantages of Polyplac solutions:
- Popular for their performance and productivity during installation, Knauf Polyplac lining complexes constitute a solution allowing continuous insulation indoors and reducing thermal bridges in singular points (window sills, low floors in combination with insulation under screed).
- In addition to the use of fewer materials, linings are a space-saving solution which allows the increase of the “Shab”, therefore a carbon saving reduced to the total “habitable surface” of the buildings.
- These linings also require fewer installation steps and fewer materials than counter-partitions, notably with the absence of metal frames.
