Knauf Industries and Valorplast have in common to work tirelessly to identify effective plastic regeneration devices.
On the strength of numerous preliminary experiments, the two organizations are now able to offer a concrete solution for recovering and recycling the EPS deposit. This is characterized as follows:
- On the national territory, the EPS deposit is mainly composed of protective cushioning (domestic appliances, furniture and fragile equipment), food and pharmaceutical packaging, or even waste generated during the insulation of buildings.
- The service offer offered by Knauf Circular® and Valorplast concerns EPS waste collected in recycling centres. These are mainly cases and wedging in PSE.
As part of an operation involving local authorities and their recycling centres,
- Valorplast, with its knowledge of the territories and their plastic waste management infrastructures, has the mission of supporting local authorities in their performance of collection, sorting and massification of boxes and packings in EPS.
- Knauf Industries, for its part, is a manufacturer of packaging products, technical parts and insulation in EPS. In addition, under the name Knauf Circular®, the company has developed an EPS collection and recycling offer. This service transports the EPS collected by local authorities, in bulk or in specific bags, to direct these tonnages to its processing sites, as close as possible to their initial locations.
Once regenerated, recycled EPS finds, among other things, applications in new wedging or industrial technical parts, flotation equipment or insulation components for construction.
To mark their commitment to the circular economy, Knauf Industries and Valorplast have decided to deploy their joint service offer to local authorities that wish to do so throughout the country.
