Kalcul, KP1's free digital tool is enriched: the carbon "comparator" integrated into the environment module

The development of the carbon "Komparator" functionality, which enriches the Environment module of its KALCUL software suite, is a new illustration of this ambition.

New and free, this feature allows contractors to simultaneously compare the “carbon” performance of several floor or wall systems. At a time when construction standards are increasingly demanding in this area, it is a real aid to decision-making when designing buildings.

Navigation is simple and intuitive, on computer, tablet or smartphone. Professionals simply need to search using the filters: by type of floor (low, insulating, heating/cooling and intermediate) and wall (any height and R+4), and by level of carbon weight by m² targeted. Several constructive systems are then proposed to him. Once he has made his selection, he finds all the details on the “results” page, including the carbon footprint, the FDES and the assembly nomenclatures. So many elements that facilitate the realization of the Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of a building to be included in the specifications of calls for tenders sent to companies. More than 70 solutions are already present and the Komparateur will be enriched over time.

A practical tool in response to RE2020

With the entry into force of RE2020, the carbon performance of construction systems is being scrutinized! In just a few clicks, the new carbon "Comparator" functionality highlights the performance differences between different constructive systems for the same function.

For a low floor, what solution is the most appropriate if we are looking to build low carbon? Once the user has checked the "low floor" filter, he obtains, for example, information for several systems: cast-in-place floor, beam/between floor and EMR IMPAKT floor, which corresponds to the new low carbon offer from KP1. This latest floor solution over a crawl space, made up of interjoists made of recycled material associated with prestressed concrete beams, reduces the carbon weight of the m² by nearly 50% compared to a solid floor.
