Justice dismisses nine associations against the building permit for the Triangle de Gonesse station

"The applicant associations are not justified in requesting the cancellation of the decree of the prefect of Val-d'Oise of September 14, 2018" issuing the building permit for this Grand Paris Express station, considered the court in a judgment returned on Tuesday.

This "open field infrastructure that the government persists in wanting to build" despite the ecological emergency suffers from a lack of consultation and information on its environmental impact, denounce the opponents.

The court opposed their arguments, considering that the permit was not marred by any irregularity and "did not have to provide for compensation measures".

"This decision shows that agricultural land is secondary", regretted Bernard Loup, the president of the Collective for the Triangle of Gonesse (CPTG), among the applicants. The associations will appeal, he added.

They had quickly taken legal action after the green light from the prefect, more than three years ago.

In the meantime, Europacity, the leisure megacomplex supposed to be established there initially, was abandoned by the State in 2019. But not the station. A host of projects have since been planned to establish themselves around, up to an extension of the Rungis market.

Through petitions, demonstrations and legal actions from which they have emerged defeated at this stage, opponents are asking to promote agricultural projects on a human scale and to direct investments in existing public transport.

Preparatory work for line 17 north has started on the site.

This new metro line between Bonneuil-en-France and Le Mesnil-Amelot (Seine-et-Marne) must pass through the Villepinte exhibition center and especially Roissy airport.

Its commissioning is scheduled for 2030.
