The opportunity to take stock of the past exceptional year and to put your projects into perspective. The promotion of the quality window made in France, recycling and sustainable development remaining challenges within the UFME, actions will be deployed around these strong axes.
A busy year that saw new projects come to fruition
After the sudden cessation of production at the start of 2020 due to covid-19, then a resumption in "stop and go" for a few months, the order books were again filled in June 2020. The situation subsequently deteriorated complicated by the supply problems of raw materials, leading in particular to tariff increases. During this very dense year, the UFME accompanied its members on a daily basis. This is evidenced, for example, by the group purchase of masks, the decryption of health protocols and their adaptation to the professions while pursuing the objectives set before the pandemic:
- the launch of the third phase of its communication campaign dedicated to PVC windows,
- active participation in the development of future environmental regulations,
- increasing the visibility of the UFME Charter for the recycling of joinery,
- the establishment of the next industrial carpenter CQP,
- management of the QualiPVC Fenêtres quality label,
- enhancing the efficiency of the window in the thermal performance of the building.
“The massive mobilization of the sector, the dynamism of the building placed as a weighty sector and the habitat that has become a safe haven where the performance of joinery has an essential role to play, make us optimistic for the future. The UFME is recognized as a professional body registered in a constant dynamic, turned towards the future. We continue our missions around two pillars that are dear to us. First of all the environment. We are launching a brand dedicated to our Charter for the recycling of joinery: FERVAM, Committed Sector for the Recycling and Valuation of Joinery. Highlighting the real efficiency of windows in the thermal performance of buildings remains at the heart of our approach. The French window has all the essential assets to achieve environmental objectives. Another mission, the upgrading of the French quality window. We are launching the third phase of our communication campaign aimed at individuals and opening a working group dedicated to the defense of the PVC window to an institutional audience. We will actively collaborate in the campaigns on wooden windows financed by CODIFAB. ". Bruno CADUDAL, President of UFME
New ambitions for the three Commissions
Technical Commission
The preparation of the regulatory deadlines of 2022 (RE2020 and AGEC law) has been one of the priorities in recent months, as has support for companies in the dematerialization of data exchanges. The UFME is finalizing the studies in progress, in particular with the Glass Walls Sector, Carbon component, to improve its understanding of the future impacts of RE2020. It will also participate in the establishment of the future eco-organization of the REP Bâtiment.
“More than ever, our profession needs to develop the sourcing of raw materials from recycling to meet environmental challenges and work on its independence from virgin raw materials. ". Hugues DE FORGES, President of the Technical Commission
Social and Training Commission
Among the missions carried out, the establishment of a new CQP Industrial carpenter Manufacture of windows and doors, essential at a time when the profession has greatly evolved. After an experimentation phase conducted with employees of member companies who are volunteers to improve their skills, the first promotion was awarded the CQP at the end of 2020. The latter should be registered with the RNCP (National Directory of Professional Certifications) by now. end of 2021.
“Our project is to structure the network of approved training organizations capable of training for this CQP. A kit for candidates too far from the centers, for example, will also be developed. We want to encourage vocations and increase the number of our passionate employees, to contribute to the sustainability of our companies and French manufacturing. ". Jean-Marc COMBES, President of the Social and Training Commission
Communication Commission
A national communication campaign reinforced the image of the PVC window towards the French household through a multi-media campaign: press, radio and especially digital. In total, the choisirmafenetre.fr site has recorded 400 visits since the start of the campaign. At the same time, the ufme.fr site, dedicated to professionals and specifiers, has been revitalized.
“A PVC Window Guide will soon see the light of day to assist individuals in their choice. It is the culmination of collective work of which we are proud. We will also continue to promote the NF Fenêtre certification, and the QualiPVC Fenêtre label, which has just been entrusted to us. ". Patrick SAGE, President of the Communication Commission
