Representing more than 1,5 million employees present in just over 230.000 companies in 2021, the construction sector is one of the leading employers in France. The sector offers real job opportunities and represents 265.000 recruitment projects in 2022, an increase of 22% compared to 2021. In building and public works, the trades and working conditions are very varied and the ecological transition offers new opportunities in terms of skills.
Remotely or face-to-face, in agencies or in the field, more than 600 events will be organized throughout the territory during this 2nd week of construction and public works trades. Job-dating, site visits, discovery of trades and training will be so many opportunities to facilitate meetings between professionals in this sector, job seekers, people in professional retraining, employees looking for mobility or even young people reflecting on their orientation.
For Jean Bassères, Managing Director of Pôle emploi: “Pôle emploi has always been at the side of professionals in the sector. The mobilization of our 900 agencies has made it possible in 2021 to recruit more than 444.000 jobseekers in the construction and public works trades, including more than 405.000 under long-term contracts. In the period we are going through, it is all the more important to act to fight against recruitment difficulties. This national week organized with our partners is the translation of this. »
For Bruno Cavagné, President of the FNTP: “Beyond these figures, public works is above all a sector that offers opportunities for the future, with trades that have become essential to the ecological transition. Indeed, the carbon footprint linked to the use of infrastructures currently represents half of France's emissions! Building carbon-free mobility and energy infrastructures, adapting territories to climate change, rehabilitating industrial wasteland and restoring natural environments means building the future of our country and being an actor for the planet. Public works trades are also at the heart of the digital transition. Already present on construction sites, digital technology and artificial intelligence will revolutionize the construction sector in the years to come. »
For Olivier Salleron, President of the FFB: “Having ambition for employment means acting on the attractiveness of the sector by communicating on the possibilities of hiring and careers. It is also showing everyone that the building remains a sector of the future, our professions are eternal! Let's make it widely known during this week of building trades and public works. »
For Jean-Christophe Repon, President of CAPEB: "Working in a craft building company means having the guarantee of doing a job that makes sense, through daily contact with customers, collaborative work with other building trades, and the satisfaction of accomplishing essential work to meet the challenges of energy and climate transition. We are pleased with the closer ties initiated over more than a year with Pôle Emploi as close as possible to the field. Our sector offers interesting and fulfilling career prospects. Join us ! »
