Jean-Marc Golberg re-elected President of the SNBPE

Holder of a PhD in geology, petrology and geochemistry from the University of Montpellier, Jean-Marc Golberg joined Lafarge in 1988 as a concrete and aggregates quality engineer. He then held various positions in the aggregates and concrete activities in France before being appointed director of the Provence concrete agency in 1996. In 1998, Jean-Marc Golberg took over the management of the Brittany concrete agency.

In 2003, he became Managing Director of Lafarge Aggregates Ouest, then joined in January 2009, the global research center of the Lafarge group in Isle d'Abeau (Isère) as Research & Development Director for concrete and aggregates. In September 2013, Jean-Marc Golberg was appointed General Manager Concrete for France.

During his first mandate, Jean-Marc Golberg made recognition of the technical, economic, social and environmental qualities of ready-mixed concrete as his priority and that of the SNBPE. Particular interest was also focused on communicating more about the greater use of recycled aggregates in concrete, but also to communicate with the aim of convincing that concrete is a material that can be recycled indefinitely in all construction solutions, whether horizontal or vertical.

The main orientations of the second term

During this second term, Jean-Marc Golberg wishes to continue the work started in recent years, as President of the SNBPE. Priority will be given to creating ever greater synergies with the other players in the Concrete Sector. With, in particular, a short-term objective, to get the Public Authorities to review their copy concerning the new method of calculating the carbon footprint, known as dynamic LCA, within the framework of RE2020. The SNBPE ​​wishes to offer a virtuous approach for all construction materials so that they decarbonize and participate in the search for environmentally better constructive solutions, in application of what provided for the ELAN Law.

Jean-Marc Golberg also wishes to emphasize the inert nature of hardened concrete and that this be taken into account by the Public Authorities in the decisions they will take regarding the management of building waste provided for in the Circular Economy Law.
