Concerned about environmental issues, Denis Joandel, founder of JDM Expert has developed the HYDROWAY® solution, a 100% permeable and easy-to-maintain outdoor covering. Thanks to this innovative process, the water is no longer stagnant on the ground but directly reaches the groundwater, an ecological response that makes it possible to be more respectful of the environment and the natural water cycle.
In 2008, JDM Expert filed a patent for its HYDROWAY® solution and it proudly complies with the Climate and Resilience Law of 2021 which provides for the halving of the rate of concreting by 2030.
Environmentally friendly exterior flooring is possible
In an environmental logic and for the common good, it is no longer a question of promoting soil sealing, communities and individuals are looking for an answer as close as possible to environmental issues. For several years, we have been witnessing a proliferation of waterproof coatings, so rainwater does not penetrate the ground and remains on the surface. A considerable quantity of water must be evacuated in this way, requiring the installation of sewage networks and very often causing the flooding of rivers, streets and homes, but also the pollution of water by runoff.
HYDROWAY® meets environmental challenges by reducing its reduced carbon footprint, 5 times lower than concrete. But also, thanks to its permeability which allows water to pass almost instantly, thus avoiding water pollution by runoff and the feeding of groundwater. Finally, its light colors avoid the accumulation of heat during the day, thus limiting heat islands.
HYDROWAY®: responsible and simple innovation
For the installation of the HYDROWAY®, JDM Expert uses a network of trained and approved applicators throughout mainland France, the DOPM TOM, Switzerland and Belgium. Building professionals take care of the installation of the coating step by step. HYDROWAY® comes in the form of a permeable structure and offers excellent resistance to bad weather and loads such as motorized machinery.
This solution perfectly meets the specifications of the Climate and Resilience Law of 2021 by directly replenishing groundwater reserves. HYDROWAY® avoids stagnant puddles and the proliferation of aquatic plants such as algae and mosses. The permeable design of the HYDROWAY® is based on the calculation of the water flow that can be infiltrated, during heavy rain or light but continuous showers.
HYDROWAY® in brief:
An aesthetic and responsible floor: made in France and composed of more than 90% natural elements, the unique coating is created by an alloy of aggregates and a suitable binder allowing a natural look.
Permeable soil: its innovative structure allows water to infiltrate up to 1 liter per m2 and per second. Thanks to this, the coating does not require any slope to be laid in addition to avoiding runoff and puddles. This makes it possible to make real savings on VRD (grid, sewer networks, etc.)
A resistant solution: ideal for schoolyards, alleys and paths, swimming pool beaches, even parking areas, the portability of the coating supports heavy weights up to 26 tons.
A non-slip and driveable floor: the finish remains comfortable while avoiding skidding and allowing vehicles to drive over it.
Ease of maintenance: possibility of cleaning it very easily with a broom, a leaf blower, a high-pressure cleaner.
