Numerous tests have made it possible to validate the good hygrothermal behavior of the different configurations, the tightness and the durability of the Duoprotect under-roof screen with its singular points and the conditions for installation without decking. Following these tests, the Alpes Contrôles control office studied and validated the Sarking Isonat Multisol process in plain climates < 900 m, and thus issued the ETN Alpes Contrôle A27T210Q.
Thanks to this certification, Isonat, already the first player in the biosourced insulation sector to benefit from technical advice, is actively participating in the professionalization of the sector with insulation solutions validated by independent third parties.
What is an ETN?
A New Technique Investigation (ETN) is an opinion issued by an independent control office on a non-traditional construction process. The opinion is based on an installation prescription book and test reports submitted by the system holder. The ETN makes it possible to provide construction stakeholders with reliable information on the implementation and durability of the targeted process, to offer more peace of mind to users.
Sarking in Isonat wood fiber: a virtuous association that combines occupant comfort and commitment to sustainable construction
These solutions are very advantageous both for the craftsman and for the end customer.
For the craftsman:
- They can be implemented with complete peace of mind because they have been validated by a specialized control office (ETN Alpes Contrôle A27T210Q).
- They allow both a traditional implementation on decking but also a laying of insulation directly on rafters, with additional insulation between rafters, in order to facilitate the obtaining of a high thermal and acoustic insulation.
- They include all the accessories necessary for installation (a new specially designed vapor barrier called Vario® Supraplex, 3 screw references and adhesives and sealants to perfect the seal), with an installation prescription book detailing all the stages of Implementation.
And for the end customer:
- These solutions provide excellent thermal comfort, summer and winter, with thermal resistances of up to 10 m².K/W.
- They also provide great acoustic comfort with respect to outside noise, with an attenuation of up to 48 dB (CSTB AC22-10623 test report, detailed in the table at the end of the press release).
- All with products made in France from wood chips from nearby sawmill scraps within a radius of 60 km around the Mably factory.
These solutions are particularly well suited for new construction to any type of building whose framework is to be left visible, in particular chalets in mountain regions. They are also very useful in the renovation of individual houses in order to save ceiling height and to be able to continue to live in the attic during the work.

The new Vario® Supraplex water vapor management and airtightness membrane, designed for Sarking

Designed for exterior roof insulation in lowland climates, with temporary roof protection for up to 1 month.
- Non-slip coating.
- Without glare.
- Reinforced anti-UV treatment.
- Pre-adhesive edges.
A hygroregulating membrane:
- Protects the roof from water vapor all year round.
- Let the wall dry in summer.
- Particularly suitable when there is a risk of a heat wave.
The Sarking screws for fixing the counter-slats

Isonat has validated its ETN in partnership with three manufacturers of screws commonly used on this application, to offer its customers the choice between Würth Assy® 4 Isotop, LR Etanco Starking or SFS Twin UD screws.
This range covers a range of lengths from 170 to 500 mm and allows a maximum thickness of insulation on rafters of 320 mm.
Duoprotect screen sealing accessories
In the case of roofs with a slight slope (≤ 30%) or for the treatment of singular points, the tightness of the screen under the roof is validated with the implementation of Vario® Multitape or Vario® Fast Tape adhesives after application of 'a coat of spray or liquid primer from Würth or Proclima on the surface of the panel, or with the application of a strip of mastic from Würth or Sika in the groove.

A lot of work has also been done to specify the treatment of all the singular points in the installation prescription book.

Excellent acoustic performance for regulatory compliance even in noisy areas
Sarking Isonat insulation solutions provide excellent sound reduction performance with respect to external noise, with 36 dB in the case of a wooden decking finish, and 48 dB with additional insulation between herringbone.
Acoustic regulations for new buildings require a minimum insulation of 30 dB, this criterion being able to rise to 45 dB depending on the proximity of major sources of noise (road, railways, airport). Isonat solutions thus make it possible to respond to the most severe cases of external noise.
