This approach also applies to the show through the five commitments of the CSR charter established by INTERMAT to improve the environmental performance of the event, place it in a more responsible dimension and encourage exhibitors and visitors to drive change by applying solutions more sustainable innovations.
The 5 commitments of the INTERMAT CSR charter
#1 - Optimize the eco-design of the show & act in favor of the circular economy
INTERMAT is committed to reducing signage and favoring the use of recycled and recyclable media (printed documents, badge holders and badges), with a target of +20% revaluation, to use eco-responsible materials for the construction of areas common areas of the show, with a minimum objective of 50% of the space eco-designed, to provide self-service water fountains, to dematerialize the tools (interactive map, access badges) with the objective of dividing by two printings, saving more than 3 tonnes of paper, and to improve communication with exhibitors and visitors regarding good sorting practices.
#2 – Reduce the carbon impact of the show
INTERMAT is committed to applying an energy sobriety plan by reducing heating by 10% compared to the previous edition, switching off equipment outside opening hours, replacing thermal bulbs with LEDs, set up electric shuttles between the airport and the exhibition center and a small electric train within the show.
#3 - Encourage exhibitors to participate in the event by adopting a CSR approach
INTERMAT is committed to setting up an eco-responsible Participation Trophy, to offering reusable or equipped ECO-DESIGNED stands (reused structure, rented furniture, LED lighting, carpet tiles), to providing access to a responsible material library, to pool orders for reusable cups, bottles, cups, made in France, recycled, recyclable and the transport of stand supplies during assembly and dismantling.
#4 - Raise awareness among visitors to experience the event in a more responsible way
INTERMAT is committed to communicating about the responsible approach and sustainable actions implemented ahead of the show, to promoting eco-gestures to adopt as part of participation in the event, to initiating a partnership with Blablacar to encourage carpooling, organizing conferences around CSR themes and providing specific welcome and personalized services (loan of mechanical wheelchairs, dedicated number for access from car parks) for people with disabilities.
#5 - Set up events to serve the economic performance of communities
INTERMAT is committed to creating a meeting area around employment, with the establishment of job dating sessions for companies in the construction sector which offer employment opportunities, to enable them to promote their employment plans. action to deal with a labor shortage, their training policy and the professions they have to offer and to set up partnerships with schools to help students get started in professional life and enable businesses to meet young talents.
