Last October, the inhabitants of two social housing towers in Bagnols-sur-Cèze (30) witnessed spectacular energy renovation work.
As part of a boiler replacement contract, Gard Habitat called on Engie's services to launch and monitor this energy work. To do this, Engie called on the expertise of the Carreau installation company. , which relied on the THERMINOX insulated duct solution from CheminéesPoujoulat for the connection of 4 new gas condensing boilers. The partnership between Carreau, fumisterie de bâtiment, and CheminéesPoujoulat, the European leader in metal chimney ducts and roof outlets, has, once again, proved its efficiency and its adaptability to the particularities of an exceptional site.
A historic collaboration galvanized on an exceptional site
Gard Habitat, owner and lessor of the G1 and G2 collective housing towers erected in the town of Bagnols-sur-Cèze, launched in 2019 a call for tenders concerning the replacement of the heating equipment, due to its obsolescence and high energy consumption generated.
Engie, in charge of this market, has mandated the Carreau smokehouse to ensure the recommendation of the preferred duct solution and its implementation.
To meet its client's specifications, Carreau turned to Cheminées Poujoulat, a long-standing supplier partner with whom the installer has been able to forge solid human and technical relationships over the past 12 years.
In view of the elements of this market relating to the implementation of a site remarkable for the size of the ducts to be treated, the company Carreau chose the THERMINOX solution from Cheminées Poujoulat.
“The THERMINOX duct has proven to be the most suitable solution given its aesthetic attributes, its durability, its adaptability to gas condensing technology, its efficiency and the safety conditions it offers due to the height constraint to be taken into account ”, describes Lionel Abadie, team leader of the Carreau company.
Ducts culminating at 40 meters high
The Carreau company received the conduits on October 12, 2020 on site. The site began with connection work to temporary equipment, intended to maintain the supply of heating and domestic hot water throughout the duration of the work.
To start the work of laying the new conduits, the company Carreau hired an absolutely atypical nacelle, one of the longest self-propelled scissor lifts in France rarely used, to make the conduits peak at 40 meters in height.
Three employees of the company Carreau then set about installing the THERMINOX stainless steel ducts with a diameter of 300, like a stack of Lego, resting on a wall support fixed to the wall of each of the buildings.
This stacking was interrupted by the installation of wall clamps to ensure the maintenance of the conduits vertically to the residential towers. These different phases were repeated many times until reaching the top of the towers.
These conduits are supplied by 4 MCA gas condensing boilers designed by De Dietrich, positioned in a boiler room.
In total, the 3 installers worked for 4 weeks, supported throughout the site by Cheminées Poujoulat. The site went perfectly within the schedule initially set.
THERMINOX: a high-performance and durable duct that contributes to energy savings
The savings linked to these new boilers can reach 30%, provided they are associated with suitable and efficient flue pipes.
To optimize the performance of these modern boilers, Cheminées Poujoulat has designed the THERMINOX duct in collaboration with appliance manufacturers and installers. It perfectly meets the new thermal regulations (RT2005, RT2012, RE2020) which aim to strengthen the overall thermal performance of buildings. Its performance has been validated by the CÉRIC Laboratory.
Manufactured with high quality materials, THERMINOX ensures perfect airtightness as well as condensate.
High density rock wool insulation optimizes draft and prevents condensation from forming on the outside of the duct.
Aesthetics remaining a priority for Cheminées Poujoulat, THERMINOX is no exception to the rule: it benefits from an elegant line (incorporating safety collars) and meticulous finishes.Available in stainless steel, painted or copper finishes, THERMINOX s' best suited to the architecture of the building.
