INIES, the reference base for environmental and health declarations for building products, equipment and services sold in France, reveals the new face of its website, inies.fr.
In addition to simple and free access to the FDES (Environmental and Health Declaration Sheet) and PEP (Product Environment Profile) via two direct entries to the INIES database (consultation, declaration), the site is enriched by new sections dedicated to information. Thus, the internet user can search for information by type of data in the navigation bar (construction products, building equipment, life cycle inventories, etc.) and through six thematic blocks (news, documentary resources, verification program, etc.). .
Educational and ergonomic, inies.fr allows actors to easily and quickly access all the information to understand the environmental and health reference data for the building and thus have the keys to the proper use of the database.
Understanding environmental and health data to better use it
The new formula ofinies.fr emphasizes explanation and information, starting with the fundamentals necessary for the proper use of environmental and health data and their development:
- Understand what is an Environmental and Health Data Sheet, dedicated to construction products, or a PEP, dedicated to products of electrical, electronic and climate engineering equipment and know how they are made
- Know what this reference information is used for, why it is useful or even essential for the environmental and health assessment of buildings in France
- Identify the different search possibilities in the INIES database
In this same educational dynamic, a frequently asked questions, documentary resources and a news section are available.
Easier access to the services offered by the INIES database to verify the FDES and export the database data in digital format
In total, nearly 1700 FDES and 70 ecopassport® are now listed on the site.
These data are accessible via the INIES webservice in a pre-defined digital format with a weekly update via a commercial or academic license; a very useful service, in particular for building life cycle analysis software for assessing the environmental performance of structures.
The INIES verification program offers the possibility for FDES issuers to have their data verified by an authorized independent third party. This is made easier by the fact that all the information is now accessible in one click, in particular the list of INIES qualified verifiers. This dynamic is in full swing with the obligation of this verification from July 1, 2017 (cf. decree of August 31, 2015 relating to the independent third-party verification of environmental declarations of construction products, decoration products and equipment of the building).
So revisited, www.inies.fr is the benchmark for understanding the environmental and health declarations of building products, equipment and services and accessing the INIES database.
