With this project of 100 housing units, with an innovative housing concept dedicated to the new generation of seniors, favoring their independence and autonomy, Kaufman & Broad confirms its desire to build residences dedicated to “aging well”. The stakes are high, by 2060, a third of French people will be over 60 and there will be more than 85 million over 5.
Cozy Diem seniors' service residences are an accommodation and service solution, suitable for seniors looking for a new way of life. These new generation residences not only offer quality housing, but also benefits and services, adapted and customizable, which help prevent dependency.
A residence at the service of aging well
“Today we are proud to inaugurate this first Cozy Diem residence born from the alliance with the Serenis Network. Because at Kaufman & Broad, we have a conviction, shared with the majority of French people: most people want to age in place, at least for as long as possible. This is why, while many of the residences managed are aimed at so-called active seniors, the Cozy Diem concept is also interested in fragile people or people with a loss of autonomy who need solutions to delay the onset of addiction, or even avoid it. It is a real strategy that is part of the WHO recommendations to promote healthy aging. », emphasizes Jacques Rubio, Managing Director Regions Kaufman & Broad.
Cozy Diem offers independent and adapted accommodation for seniors, articulated around common areas designed as real places of conviviality, activity, entertainment and relaxation. Residents are invited to practice adapted physical activities and to participate in dietary workshops led by professionals in order to maintain their physical and intellectual abilities. The program of personalized workshops is based on the strategies resulting from the work of the WHO, which includes, upstream of the loss of autonomy, the early identification of frailty in the elderly, in order to identify the determinants of frailty. and to act on it to delay so-called "avoidable" addiction and prevent the occurrence of adverse events.
To do this, it relies on the experience of Réseau Serenis, a Toulouse family group specializing in the care of seniors, which has developed a particular approach to the care of the elderly.
"The Serenis Network has provided Cozy Diem with its know-how in operating health establishments and EHPADs to design residences that meet the needs of autonomous seniors" says Paul Gémar, President of Cozy Diem.
A residence to promote living together
The Cozy Diem Narbonne residence offers autonomous seniors a comfortable and friendly living space to age well. Designed by the architect, Christian Dugelay (Architecture Patrimoine et Création), it is ideally located in downtown Narbonne, along the Quai Vallière, to allow residents to take advantage of the proximity of the banks of the canal, shops, halls, services, and entertainment, while promoting social ties.
“The city of Narbonne is hosting the first Cozy Diem residence, in place of an old disused Clinic, thus participating in the reconstruction of the City on the City. We chose this city, at the crossroads of Occitania, to meet the expectations of the local senior population but also because it is a city where life is good. We offer them apartments adapted to all mobility constraints and easy to live in to age well», explains Julien Eybalin, Director of the Kaufman & Broad Languedoc-Roussillon Agency.
The Cozy Diem residence is made up of 100 apartments, from studios to 3-room apartments, from 28 to 67 m². The majority of the apartments have a terrace or a balcony. All are furnished and air-conditioned, with the possibility of customization. The apartments are ergonomic, equipped with light paths in case of loss of autonomy.
Nearly 600 m² are reserved for services (gym, library, multimedia room, hairdresser, etc.) and on-site catering. The choice was made to open the restaurant to the public, because maintaining social ties among seniors is essential.
"This social bond is one of the keys to aging well and we apply it in our residences through the restaurant open to the outside, the location in the heart of town...", continues Julien Eybalin.
Beyond the services offered, Cozy Diem is also a team of 12 caring employees trained in supporting seniors, who watch over residents 24 hours a day, 24 days a week.
