A unique environment in France
With Alma Terra, Bouygues Immobilier is delivering the very first residence located in the heart of the ATLANTECH cluster, the first low-carbon district in France, created on the initiative of the Urban Community of La Rochelle.
Unique in Europe, ATLANTECH aims to be a pioneer in the fields of sustainable development, soft mobility and eco-construction. Both a residential area and a business space dedicated to energy transition, ATLANTECH is designed as a territory of innovation in terms of ecology, at the service of the habitat of tomorrow.
Inserted in the heart of this environment, Alma Terra includes 1000 m2 of shared vegetable gardens, collective composters, rainwater collectors, and also has photovoltaic panels on the roof over 135 m2, thus facilitating and encouraging the implementation of behaviors virtuous within the residence.
Labeled energy sobriety
Nestled in an island of vegetation, the apartments of the residence have just been awarded the highest performance of the E+C- label. Initiated by the Ministry for the Environment, this label assesses the energy and environmental performance of buildings over their entire life cycle.
The Alma Terra residence has obtained the E3C2 level, which is the label's highest performance. A label that guarantees a limitation of the carbon footprint for construction and operation, optimum thermal comfort in summer and winter and a reduction in the energy costs of housing. Wooden frame walls on the top floors, green facades on the ground floor, thermal insulation, collective wood boiler room and photovoltaic panels are all elements guaranteeing real energy performance without neglecting the quality of life.
During the construction of Alma Terra, Bouygues Immobilier also worked with the Biotop network on waste management and recovery. Biotop accompanied Bouygues Immobilier throughout the duration of the project. The goal? Identify and implement waste management solutions in line with Bouygues Immobilier's sustainable development and circular economy strategy. During its 15 months of intervention, Biotop collected nearly 6,5 tonnes of recyclable waste. Thus, almost 5.000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent have been avoided.
Presented as part of the prizes awarded by the Federation of French Property Developers (FPI), the Alma Terra project received the Silver Pyramid for low-carbon building in 2020.
