In Villeneuve-La-Garenne, a green pedestrian mall for the new Rive Nature district

The Bongarde district where the project is located developed significantly at the beginning of the 20th century and is made up of heterogeneous urban fabrics in the process of being restructured.

This project is an opportunity to create an organized and composed urban place, a point of articulation between the quays of the Seine and the heart of the Bongarde district. Thus the project proposes an urban density which is similar to that of a city center district.

The main characteristic of this new district is the development of a vast central landscaped space, a green pedestrian mall reproducing all the strata making up the natural undergrowth. One hundred and ten trees of different local species, shrub beds, beds of plants and grasses make up this urban park which is organized perpendicular to the Seine. It connects the quay, the boulevard and the surrounding streets as well as the terraces along the Seine of the neighboring shopping center.

Apartment buildings are arranged in a staggered pattern along this central urban forest. A singular element highlights the entrance on the Seine side in the form of a taller building. This entire signal tower and the opening of the landscaped mall on the quay strongly mark the entrance to the town of Villeneuve-la-Garenne.

The play of opposed growth and decrease in the size of the buildings depending on whether one moves closer to or further from the Seine, makes it possible to manage the vis-à-vis buildings. The exterior extensions of the housing in the form of balconies and terraces strongly characterize the architecture of the project.

Finally, functional and social diversity encourages mixing, meeting, cohabitation and sharing while preserving the privacy of residents.
