In 2022, the average rent will be close to 1.000 euros in the Paris region

The average surface area of ​​housing assessed by Olap was 53 square meters, and increases the further you move away from Paris.

According to Olap, these rents increased by 2,4% in 2022 in Paris and its suburbs. A significantly larger increase than that announced in its first estimate (1,8%).

It is mainly new tenants who have absorbed this increase, with rents re-evaluated by 4,5% on average for move-ins. Tenants who remain in their accommodation have suffered an average reassessment of 1,8% of their rent.

The increase in rents was close to that of the Rent Reference Index (IRL), 2,5% on average in 2022 according to Olap calculations, but significantly lower than inflation, 6% this year. that year, notes the Observatory.

The average rent excluding charges was 1.230 euros in Paris itself, for an average surface area of ​​50 square meters.

In the inner suburbs (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne), it was 937 euros, for 52 square meters on average.

In the greater suburbs (Seine-et-Marne, Yvelines, Essonne, Val-d'Oise), the municipalities located in the Paris metropolitan area posted an average rent of 855 euros, with the average surface area being 57 square meters.

The most rural or far from the capital, studied with less finesse by Olap, showed a rent of 783 euros for properties of 64 square meters on average.
