Following the success of the 1st edition of theIDEX School Tour, the IDEX work-study bus will once again travel the roads of France. The kick-off will be given on March 9 in Saint-Lô (Manche). Its objective: to recruit 150 work-study students, by meeting students directly, in vocational schools or training centers, in order to introduce them to the professions and the IDEX group.
IDEX has decided to renew the IDEX School Tour for a second edition, who will stop, between March 9 and April 4, 2023, in 25 cities and 40 schools, twice as many as last year, in order to meet students from bac to bac +3 level.
Through the School Tour, IDEX wants to make itself better known to students, introduce them to the current energy context, the energy professions and the key role played by technicians, with the objective of recruiting 150 work-study students.
The students will be received inside the bus, where they will be able to discover the professions of IDEX, discuss with branch managers, local HR, and meet former work-study trainees who have now become group employees. A space of job-dating can even allow them to leave with a work-study contract in hand!

Independent leader in low-carbon energies and with a turnover of 2 billion euros in 2022, IDEX is a very fast-growing group that recruits around 800 employees per year. The profiles sought are mainly HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) technicians, refrigeration technicians, multi-technical technicians, but also site managers, works project managers, Energy Managers as well as positions in support functions to support operational staff.
In this context, IDEX relies on work-study. Nearly 280 work-study students, i.e. approximately 5% of the workforce, thus contribute to the success of IDEX, while benefiting from the reinforced support of tutors, and the development of their skills thanks to effective training tools (IDEX School Digital) as well as a network of internal trainers allowing them to upgrade or deepen their technical expertise. At the end of the work-study contract, IDEX aims to hire 50% on permanent contracts.
“IDEX's mission is to accelerate the energy transition of territories, and to lead it, we need 800 young people to join us. Learning is obvious to us, and I am therefore proud to renew the IDEX School Tour, which had made it possible to recruit 50 work-study students in 2022. For this 2nd edition, the objective is to increase to 150. It's for them the assurance of a profession in a buoyant sector, and for us an asset in helping the territories to decarbonize.” said Odile Bonhomme, Director of Human Resources at IDEX, on the occasion of the launch of the School Tour.
With a turnover of 2 billion euros in 2022, IDEX is today the only vertically integrated market operator across the entire local energy value chain. It involves the production of thermal or electrical energy from local and carbon-free energy resources (waste, biomass, geothermal energy, solar), through the distribution of this energy through heating and cooling networks, up to optimization of its end use in industrial, residential and tertiary buildings.
