HydroProof, the new exterior ceiling system with a sober aesthetic and easy to install

The Knauf HydroProof exterior ceiling is a complete system, under CSTB DTA. It is made up of Knauf HydroProof BA 13 "Super Hydro" plasterboard, screwed to a metal frame treated against corrosion from the Knauf Hydro or Z275 range depending on the site configuration.

Knauf HydroProof plasterboards have a reinforced water-repellent plaster core and a white glass veil facing. With a width of 1,2 m and a thickness of 12,5 mm, they are available in lengths of 2,50, 2,60 and 3 meters to adapt to all configurations and installation spacings. Their two tapered edges facilitate the treatment of joints.

The implementation of the Knauf HydroProof exterior ceiling is particularly quick and easy. It is done in just 4 steps: laying the metal frame, screwing the plates, jointing and finishing, and is similar to standard "interior" applications of non-removable plasterboard ceilings. Its implementation is therefore very accessible to professionals, especially drywall workers. To simplify its installation, Knauf offers a dedicated ready-to-use filler, Knauf Proplak HydroProof, as well as a matching Knauf HydroProof joint tape. The system makes it possible to create ceilings with a sober aesthetic, without visible joints, and with infinite possibilities of painted finishes.

With an implementation covered by a DTA of the CSTB n°9/22-1072_V1, the Knauf HydroProof system for exterior ceilings is essential both for the specification and for the applicator companies, as the guarantee of sober exterior ceilings, technically durable and easy to install.
