Homematic IP integrates connected actuators to control light and Venetian blinds

It is possible to benefit from connected functions while retaining the original design.

Whether for comfort, security or energy savings, there are many reasons to automate lighting control and control of Venetian blinds by integrating it into your smart home. Homematic IP now offers the possibility of doing this without having to change its switch or use a remote control. The new light and Venetian blind dimmer actuator as well as the Homematic IP switching module facilitate the integration of various existing switches into the connected home.

The compactness of the equipment allows easy installation in a standard recessed box. With the corresponding adapter, the appearance of the switch does not change, existing frames and buttons, for example from Legrand, Schneider Electric or Feller, are simply placed on top and remain usable. The original design and functionality of the switch remain intact.

The switch is now part of the Homematic IP smart home, with all the associated amenities. Dimmable lights as well as electric blinds, Venetian blinds, shutters and awnings can now be controlled automatically via time slots or in combination with other devices such as motion detectors or weather sensors . It is not only practical, but it also saves energy, protects the house from overheating in summer and even deters burglaries. The products also work with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to turn on or dim lights and lower shutters using voice control. With the Homematic IP application on a smartphone, control is also possible at any time from the sofa or even remotely.

The Homematic IP venetian blind actuator for well-known brand switches is already available and the Homematic IP dimmer actuator will be available from January 2024.
