More than just a working method, this comprehensive approach, shared by all stakeholders involved in the construction of its homes, aims to align construction excellence with new expectations for comfort and sustainability. By optimizing each stage of the projects, Hexaom reaffirms its commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of its homes while enhancing the value of its clients' assets, thus guaranteeing more energy-efficient, sustainable, and comfortable homes, both in summer and winter.
An ambition to transform construction sites towards sustainable and efficient housing.

The building sector is at the heart of the energy transition challenges, which calls for an evolution of working methods to gain precision and efficiency. Construction is currently the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases and generates 20 million tons of waste per year. This is why Hexaom sees a major opportunity for optimization. By acting on these levers, the group aims to both reduce its carbon footprint and guarantee a healthier environment from the very beginning of the project, in order to:
- To enhance the value of heritage sustainably by optimizing the management of resources and materials.
- Ensuring total peace of mind on the site, both by controlling the safety of the workers and by respecting the living environment of the local residents.
According to Loic Vandromme, CEO of Hexaom: "Beyond the environmental dimension, this is a societal approach based on education, support, and empowering our site managers and tradespeople on the ground."
The implementation of a "responsible construction site" charter to bring about a comprehensive transformation
To meet this ambition, the Hexaom Group aims to transform both professional practices and the perception of construction sites. It is within this framework that it has created the "Responsible Construction Site" initiative, based on a comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders on the site, from the start of construction to final delivery. Its objective: to promote cleaner, safer, and more sustainable construction sites.
For Loïc Vandromme: “At Hexaom, we consider the construction site to be the foundation of our clients' property value and comfort. It's not just about building, but about preparing a healthy and efficient living environment. Our 'Responsible Construction Site' approach is a precision tool that allows us to reconcile industrial efficiency with environmental requirements, thus guaranteeing energy-efficient, sustainable housing that is perfectly integrated into its surroundings. A better organized and more readily accepted construction site also means a smoother relationship with mayors and urban planning departments. This helps facilitate projects and support the challenges of densification.”
This approach aims to achieve several major objectives:
- Improving the health, safety and working conditions of professionals,
- To limit pollution and environmental impacts related to construction activities,
- Reduce nuisances and risks for local residents.
10 key commitments to be respected by all stakeholders in the construction project
The success of this project depends on the cooperation of all stakeholders involved in the construction site. In total, more than 1,600 tradespeople have already been made aware of the "Responsible Construction Site" approach since 2024. The goal is for each partner tradesperson to formalize their commitment by signing a charter of 10 key pledges.
For Patrick O., drywall installer at OD concept and signatory of the charter: “I fully identify with the responsible charter; these commitments represent exactly what we have been discussing with site managers for several years. It's not just another piece of paper; it's a good thing to have put it into practice.”
More than an administrative document, it is a quality pact supported by constant on-the-ground support from Hexoam's work teams.
Here are the 10 commitments of the "responsible construction site" charter:
- 1) Do not waste water: responsible management of the resource on site.
- 2) Do not bury or burn on the construction site: strict prohibition of uncontrolled waste treatment on the construction site.
- 3) Do not approach power lines: increased vigilance and maintain safe distances.
- 4) Respect the waste sorting instructions on the construction site: carry out selective sorting and recycling of materials.
- 5) Respect the neighborhood: actively limit noise pollution and disturbances for local residents.
- 6) Respect the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE): mandatory wearing of safety shoes, gloves and construction helmet.
- 7) Respect safety instructions: implementation and respect of all prevention protocols.
- 8) Respect storage areas: maintain optimal organization of materials.
- 9) Maintain access to the construction site: commitment to keep access clean and in good condition.
- 10) Travel responsibly: optimizing travel to limit carbon footprint.
Signing this charter is also very positive for homeowners whose house is under construction:
“It gives a good image, we tell ourselves that the construction site will not disturb the neighbors, especially with regard to noise. This reassures us about our construction project overall and brings us serenity about the success of our construction project,” rejoices Océane D, currently working on a project in Wingles (62).
Technology at the service of information and the involvement of the greatest number
This initiative aims to benefit the entire construction ecosystem: local residents, communities, elected officials, employees, and industrial partners. To involve and inform them, Hexoam is focusing on digital education. Now, each construction site sign displays a QR code that provides access to an interactive infographic. This tool clearly explains the principles of the approach and raises awareness among stakeholders about best practices in place on the site.
For Loic Vandromme: “As France’s leading builder and renovator, our responsibility also includes innovating and engaging our teams, but we cannot go it alone to achieve the sustainable transformation of our industry. The success of the “Responsible Construction Site” approach rests on a contract of trust and action between our teams, our partner tradespeople, and our clients. Only through the daily commitment of each stakeholder, around these 10 concrete pillars, will we be able to sustainably reconcile the act of building with a deep respect for the environment and people.”
