The French number one in the construction of individual houses Hexaom plans to produce more in 2023 despite the very unfavorable economic context for new real estate, he communicated on Wednesday May 3.
"The Group (...) expects growth in its 2023 production in this sector (house construction, editor's note) despite the decline in order intake that began in 2022," Hexaom said in a press release.
In the first quarter, the owner of the Maisons France Confort brand generated a turnover up 6,9% over one year to 278,6 million euros, with a 9,8% increase in the construction of houses, its core business.
But the manufacturer's order intake in the first quarter fell 24,7% in value and 32,8% in number.
Like the other builders and promoters, the Norman group is in difficulty on the one hand by the rise in construction costs, fueled by the inflation of materials and stricter environmental regulations, on the other hand by the difficulties of access real estate credit for buyers.
Anxious to preserve its margins, Hexaom passed on the cost increases to its average selling prices for houses (excluding land), which rose from 154.500 euros excluding tax at the end of December to 166.100 euros at the end of March.
