The tool also makes it possible to compare oneself with neighboring dwellings, since it thus becomes very easy to visualize all the DPEs in the same district.
Nearly 2 out of 3 French people do not know the DPE of their home
Haro on thermal colanders! Since August 25, 2022, owners of F or G classified housing can no longer increase rents, the first step before a total ban on rental, in 2025, for G classified properties. Next will come F classified properties in 2028, then E in 2034. In total, 7,2 million housing units are concerned, ie 19,5% of the entire stock. Added to this is the obligation for owners to submit to an energy audit as part of a sale, a decision which took effect last April.
In this context, knowing the DPE of your home is becoming more and more essential, whether you are a seller, lessor, buyer, tenant, or simply concerned about your energy consumption. However, nearly 2 out of 3 French people (58%) are unable to name the energy label of their home. Tenants, who should normally receive this information as soon as they rent, are even more likely to be unaware of the result of the DPE: 64% are unaware of it compared to 52% of owners[1].
On the financial side, several studies show that the poor energy performance of a property can reduce its value: some discounts are close to 15% for thermal sieves[2].
A fun map to instantly find the energy balance of a building
This is why Hello Watt is launching an interactive map that allows you to find the ECD of your home in one click, but also to navigate and examine some key indicators of the ECD of neighboring houses. The tool is quick and easy to use! To use it, simply enter the address of the accommodation. We immediately obtain its DPE label, its surface, its year of construction, the energy consumption and GHG classifications, as well as the evaluation method used.
For accommodation without DPE, Hello Watt offers a simulator, which allows you to estimate the energy label of your home. The start-up also recommends a range of profitable works to improve the energy performance of housing, depending on its characteristics.
Estimate my ECD.
The strength of Hello Watt's new tool lies in its fun and practical nature, but also in its reliability and richness. To develop its map, the start-up relies on a colossal database, accessible in open data, bringing together the 4,5 million diagnoses made after July 2021 (date of implementation of the 3CL method) and compiled by the DPE Observatory of ADEME.
For Xavier Coudert, co-founder of Hello Watt: "We have designed this interactive map to allow all owners, tenants, sellers, buyers, or simply curious people to find in a fun way and in a single click any DPE carried out since 2021. Multi-use and free, the service meets the raison d'être of Hello Watt: to provide technological tools to individuals so that they can make the right choices regarding the energy transition of their homes. »
