Hellio strengthens its territorial presence with the opening of a branch in Lyon

A major player in energy management, the Hellio group continues its historical support of housing and the public sector in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, while deploying new offers for sectors at the heart of national decarbonization policies, such as industry or transport.

In this context, the group inaugurated its new premises in Lyon on Monday, November 24, 2025, in the presence of Sylvain Godinot, Deputy Mayor of Lyon, responsible for ecological transition and heritage, and Philippe Guelpa-Bonaro, Vice-President of the Lyon Metropolitan Area in charge of energy, climate, and heating networks. The two elected officials highlighted the Lyon Metropolitan Area's investment in the decarbonization of its activities, while also commending the Hellio Group for its commitment to the Lyon community, a client of the Delta Conso Expert software, developed by Akéa Énergies, a consulting firm specializing in energy performance and technical engineering, and a subsidiary of the Hellio Group.

Decarbonizing the most energy-intensive sectors: Hellio takes action in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region

In line with national energy consumption reduction targets, the energy transition in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is a major challenge. Businesses and local authorities are called upon to rethink their infrastructure to fully contribute to this effort. At the scale of the Lyon metropolitan area, this momentum is already tangible: between 2019 and 2023, the city reduced the energy consumption of its buildings by 22%. In 2024, it launched its Ecological Transition Strategy for Buildings (STEP), which aims to halve the energy consumption of its municipal buildings and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 80% by 2050. With this in mind, the Hellio Group intends to accelerate its support for the transport, industrial, and agricultural sectors, which it already supports nationally and which benefit from significant financial incentives under the Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) scheme.

Although it is among the most industrialized regions in France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes still needs to improve the energy efficiency of its processes to maintain the competitiveness of its businesses. Leveraging Energy Savings Certificates (CEE) and public subsidies, energy management, implementing comprehensive decarbonization strategies, and providing support for ISO 500001 certification: these are just some of the solutions that Hellio's Lyon-based experts can implement to support the region's industries.

Social housing and collective housing: Hellio at the service of ambitious energy renovation

Established alongside local economic players for almost 10 years, Hellio's twenty or so employees based in Lyon already work with the social and collective housing sector to support them in their energy efficiency improvement projects by offering support based on two pillars: technical engineering and financial engineering.

Social housing is a key driver of Hellio's presence in Lyon. While social housing offers better energy efficiency on average than private residential properties (7,4% energy inefficient compared to 16%), it is nonetheless subject to the same regulations prohibiting the rental of energy-inefficient properties. Strengthening the group's local presence will enable effective renovations to be carried out while improving residents' comfort.

As an example, the group is notably supporting Alliade Habitat in three major operations comprising 869 housing units, located in Vaulx-en-Velin and Vénissieux:

• Petit Pont Residence: Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating changed from E to C
• Komarov Residence: Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating improved from D to C
• Minguettes Residence: Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating improved from D to B

Historically established in Lyon's condominium sector, with over 300 projects completed within the city limits, the Hellio Group intends to extend its expertise to supporting mountain residences in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, which present specific needs. Mountain residences, often energy inefficient due to their age, inadequate insulation, and harsh climate, require tailored support and local assistance to implement ambitious renovations. Hellio positions itself as a dedicated partner, providing technical solutions and customized follow-up to transform these challenges into tangible and measurable improvements.

Hellio Group's Lyon branch also houses the headquarters of its solar energy business dedicated to residential customers. The teams assist households living in detached houses with the installation of solar panels – with options for selling surplus energy back to the grid or virtual storage – in order to offer them reliable renewable electricity production solutions.
