Low temperature heating/cooling floors (PCRBT) recognized by the CERTITHERM quality mark are establishing themselves in a declining building market

Although market figures are, unsurprisingly, down across the entire construction sector, there is however a positive trend: the emphasis on quality.

In 2013, Cochebat observed a significant increase in the market share of low temperature heated/cooled floors (PCRBT) recognized by the CERTITHERM quality mark. These systems, controlled and approved under this brand for their energy performance, represent 31% of PCRBT installations in 2013, compared to 25% in 2012.

These figures clearly demonstrate the choice of specifiers and owners to turn towards energy efficient systems that are more economical over time.

In addition to the environmental aspect, the economic advantages of less energy-consuming heating equipment no longer need to be proven. By opting for a CERTITHERM brand PCRBT, occupants are sure to control their consumption and benefit from uniform thermal comfort.

In a difficult context, the choice of sustainable and advantageous solutions in the long term take on their full meaning. This is what we observe across the entire PCRBT market which, despite a decline of around 15% (source Cochebat), maintains a stable market share for heating installations (38%).

For hydrocable equipment (plumbing and heating), another specificity of the union, Cochebat notes a growth in PER (cross-linked polyethylene) tubes of around 17%, partly justified by the development of hydraulic radiators, replacing electric radiators. For the multilayer part, which has experienced significant growth since its launch on the market, the figures this year demonstrate stability in the sector with an overall turnover of around 40 million euros.

Launched in 2011 by COCHEBAT, CERTITHERM is the first quality brand in France to guarantee the level of thermal performance of low temperature heating/cooling floor, wall or ceiling systems. With CERTITHERM, the entire PCRBT can be taken into account in the calculation of the overall consumption of the building.
