Known to all Nancy residents, the Gentilly hospital center is changing and expanding. This is a large-scale electrical installation project, designed and carried out by Sodel, a Vosges company founded in 1948.
For the success of this file with strong security constraints, it approached Hager in order to provide an appropriate technical and economic response. Thus, this project sees, among other equipment, the implementation of the new quadro evo cabinet, which meets the service index 223 required for this installation.
At the end of a construction site on an occupied site lasting four years, the medical center will, in fact, be thoroughly modernized, with 10.000 m2 of additional space. This transformation-restructuring, entrusted to the architects of the TLR Architecture agency, includes the creation of a new center which was delivered at the end of 2022. After its opening, a complete renovation of the existing buildings is planned for completion of the work at the end of 2024.
The extension currently being completed includes, in addition to a new pharmacy, an emergency department, a hand surgery department, a cardiovascular consultation area, accommodation services, and thirteen operating theatres. Needless to say, this operation required an in-depth review of the electrical installations. Thus, the general power supply, due to the positioning of the emergency groups that were in the grip of the future site, has been redesigned.
With strong technical and space constraints, a first phase consisted in rethinking the architecture of the electrical installation (BIM project). The company Sodel, a long-standing partner of Hager, then implemented, for the first time in France, the new quadro evo cabinet solution:
a 4000 A TGBT in IS223, powered by 2 transformers of 2000A,
as well as a general switchboard for the operating rooms have been installed, thus meeting the need for continuity of service.
Indeed, the obligation to ensure the continuity of the electrical service represents the particularity of an electrical installation for a hospital site, in order to eliminate any risk of electrical cuts to medical equipment.
Hager products used:
Cabinets: 2 quadro evo TGBT / quadro4 and vegaD distribution boards
Protection: ACB / h3+ Energy molded case circuit breakers
