International reference, the rating agency EcoVadis, specialized in the evaluation of CSR, has evaluated more than 90.000 companies according to 21 criteria covering four themes: the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing.
The scoring methodology is based on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000, covering 200 spend categories and more than 160 countries.
“It's a remarkable distinction that rewards our commitment to an environmental approach initiated more than twenty years ago. The focus is not only on the use of water- and energy-saving products, their manufacture is also constantly optimized with a view to sustainability”, Gaël Magda, Managing Director GROHE France.
On the environmental side, GROHE is part of the EcoVadis ranking of the 5% most responsible companies in favor of the environment, in the manufacture of general purpose machinery.
Indeed, since 2020, all LIXIL EMENA production plants have been converted to green electricity. GROHE also launched a major initiative in 2018 to replace the plastic packaging of its products with more sustainable alternatives. Thus, in 2021, 37 million plastic product packaging were removed.
Ethically and socially, GROHE is one of the most respectful companies. On the social side, the brand has implemented numerous actions such as an employee satisfaction survey to find out about their well-being in their working environment, a collective agreement on working conditions, preventive measures against stress and injuries due to repetitive work, or training aimed at developing employee skills. GROHE France has more than 81% of its operational sites ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 certified. On the ethics side, GROHE has deployed an alert procedure to report ethical issues. The company also provided awareness training to prevent corruption, as well as awareness training to prevent anti-competitive practices.
