In partnership with the Société du Grand Paris (SGP), Enlarge Your Paris offers to discover on foot the "great natural spaces" near the GPE, a network of 200 km of automatic lines around the capital whose total commissioning is planned for 2030.
In 11 stages of 13 to 19 km, hikers will connect each day to stations already in service through the Valbon park in Seine-Saint-Denis, the reborn Yvette or the Bièvre, the Bois de Bondy or the forest of Fausses-Reposes ...
Since the start of these urban walks, more than 3.000 walkers have covered nearly 1.000 km, according to the two organizers.
For the second edition of the "pedestrian tour of Grand Paris", the cultural journal promoting in particular the events in the suburbs wants to bring the "Grands-Parisiens" to "draw a green belt of parks, gardens, rivers and forests accessible by transport in common, on foot and by bicycle ".
"These great landscapes, the GPE will make them accessible to us", explains to AFP Vianney Delourme, director of the publication who believes that with the new lines the Ile-de-France residents will be able to "reclaim all the landscapes fractured in the twentieth century" by highways, rail lines or other industrial areas.
Hikers will also visit cultural and agricultural places "which make Grand Paris", such as the Ateliers Médicis in Clichy-sous-Bois, the wasteland of Groues in Nanterre or the King's vegetable garden in Versailles ...
Thus, in Saclay (Essonne), where the future line 18 will "lower the automobile pressure on the plateau", estimates Mr. Delourme, the walkers will be received by farmers who will explain "how to breed 15 km from Paris".
Responsible for the development of the GPE, the SGP formalized in mid-July the delays of several lines of the future automatic metro in Ile-de-France and in particular the sections that were to connect the sites of the 2024 Olympic Games.
The new schedule foresees gradual commissioning between 2025 and 2030.
