How does it work ?

The public Geo-asbestos system relies on the date of issue of building permits to define the potential risk. Green, the risk is low, orange, it is moderate. Red, the risk is high.

All constructions (buildings, individual houses) carried out before 1997 have a
high asbestos risk. In the event of work, they must be the subject of an asbestos identification before work (RAT).

The application lists nearly 4 million goods: 81% are affected by the high asbestos risk.

Asbestos tracking, what does the law say?

• The obligation to carry out an asbestos detection before work (RAT) applies to all, both to individuals and professionals. This obligation was set by an order of July 16, 2019.
• In the absence of RAT, the law provides for the immediate suspension of the site, an administrative fine of up to 9000 euros and the calling into question of the criminal liability of the principal (owner or client).
