An operation included in the CCCA-BTP entrepreneurship promotion program
The BTP Cooperative Company Week is an initiative led by the CCCA-BTP, in partnership with the Federation of BTP SCOPs. Its first edition takes place across France, from March 29 to April 2, 2021.
Its objective is to promote the exemplary model of the cooperative enterprise in the construction sector to apprentices in training in construction trades. This model is fully in line with the entrepreneurship promotion program set up by the CCCA-BTP with apprentices to make them aware of the creation, takeover and transfer of a business.
The 600 cooperative construction companies mobilized in all regions
During this week, the 600 construction co-operative societies are mobilizing in the regions to meet young people in training within the construction training organizations participating in this initiative. Beyond making construction apprentices discover the cooperative model, which, through its specificities, its values and its mode of governance, appeals to more and more young people, its objective is also to support apprentices, future entrepreneurs, who are completing their training course, in the realization of their professional project.
A week to discover a fair, democratic and sustainable business model, where ...
- Employees have the power to decide. These hold at least 51% of the share capital and 65% of the voting rights.
- The managers are chosen and elected by the employees. They are the ones who run the company on a daily basis, but they are elected at general meetings.
- Profits are fairly distributed. These profits are distributed among the employees (participation and incentive), the reserves of the SCOP and the partners (dividends).
- Democracy prevails. Each partner has equal voting rights, regardless of the capital held on the principle: one man = one vote.
- A third of the profits are reserved to ensure the future and the sustainability of the company. The share of profits placed in reserves helps to consolidate equity and consolidate the future of the company. This is undoubtedly what explains the durability of the 600 construction co-operative societies.
