As part of this deployment, Frans Bonhomme is strengthening its risk prevention policy to ensure user safety and supports its teams through training.
A strategic offer that meets market needs
With an enriched concrete product offering, the Frans Bonhomme Group is pursuing its momentum by further strengthening its expertise. Indeed, the Group aims to become a national leader with a network of nearly 400 points of sale, 156 of which specialize in concrete products.
for public works companies. The success of this project is the result of collaborative work in which all of the Group's stakeholders have been engaged (safety, training, fleet, logistics, network, marketing).
A structuring project where risk prevention is key
The handling of concrete products requires the provision of specific accessories, in particular for forklifts, accessories that not all of the points of sale concerned have. An inventory was therefore carried out at the beginning of October in order to identify the needs and thus guarantee employees to work in complete safety.
“For several years, Frans Bonhomme has been fully committed to a risk prevention approach. It is imperative that each site has the appropriate equipment and accessories and that each employee is trained in their use ”, declares Alexandra David, Safety and Environment Director of the Frans Bonhomme Group.
Support through training
The Group thus ensures that employees benefit from training, based on a recommendation guide comprising, among other things, work instructions:
- E-learning training dedicated to risk prevention was provided at the end of the year.
- In addition, training will be conducted on site at the start of next year by internal referents. It will include practical scenarios for handling concrete products and will present the risks associated with lifting accessories.
These training sessions are organized in two stages, through the training of so-called (qualified) referent employees, then the training, through these referents, of employees who will be in charge of marketing the products. This internal training system enables Frans Bonhomme's internal know-how to be retained and the skills of the teams to be developed.
“Today, the development of the product offering, the entry point for the Group's recovery plan, depends on the product and business expertise of our employees. This expertise is based on product knowledge but also on controlling the risks associated with handling these heavy and sometimes bulky products. The Environmental Safety Department, in association with our partners, suppliers and with the collaboration of public works experts, worked on a guide covering all the risks identified during the storage, handling and transport of these products in order to propose preventive measures adapted and thus allow to evolve in a secure working environment while strengthening our sense of service and customer. " Alexandra David concludes.
