Conserve, enhance, create, imagine
“There is no contradiction between creation and heritage conservation. Quite the contrary. Thinking about transformation and adaptation also means making the most of existing resources, both technical and cultural, in a quest to reduce the ecological footprint of human activities. Both culturally and environmentally, it is gradually leaving the logic of disposable in favor of recyclable and repairable. These interventions today can be discreet or, on the contrary, assert themselves. In any case, they interact with what already exists. "- Frank Riester.
For three days, the National Architecture Days, coordinated in the regions by the Regional Cultural Affairs Departments, bring together many field players *, public and private, involved in the culture and politics of the city around the challenges of 'contemporary architecture. This year, the focus is on architectural projects that weave links between contemporary creation and built heritage, which enhance the existing and create dialogue between the successive contributions of generations.
The dynamics of the national territory
Throughout France, thanks to the support of the Regional Directorates for Cultural Affairs and all of the regional players, the National Architecture Days highlight the richness and diversity of the French architectural heritage. This year, the event will be exceptionally repeated on Saturday October 19 as part of the National Architecture Days.
Look up
In order to promote access to quality artistic and cultural education, the Minister of Culture and the Minister of National Education and Youth are launching the “Look up! », A day outside the walls where students accompanied by their teachers set off to explore heritage sites to learn to read architecture, decipher the landscape, decipher the city and the countryside.
