Power Road® makes it possible to use the heat captured by the road throughout the year and thus replace the fossil energy consumed for heating buildings. In France, nearly two-thirds of energy consumption linked to buildings is devoted to heating, of which two-thirds of the production energy also comes from the combustion of fossil fuels, which emit highly greenhouse gases. (GES).
Saint-Pol-de-Léon: Energy renovation of the municipal swimming pool
The swimming pool of Saint-Pol-de-Léon (29) in Brittany will be renovated by the community of municipalities in order to limit its energy consumption. The installation of 860m² of Power Road will meet 39% of the energy needs linked to the preheating of the water in the basins. When it reopens in July 2022, 30 tonnes of CO² will be saved each year compared to the consumption of the current gas boiler; the heat supply to the swimming pool will then be made with 29% renewable energies.
Lambs: Construction of the new administrative headquarters of the SDEM
The Manche departmental energy union, SDEM, has a new head office based in Agneaux (50) in Normandy, a perfect opportunity to consider alternative energy solutions. 200m² of Power Road will heat the 1650m² of the new building. Energy efficient, this equipment will save 87,5% of CO² per year compared to a gas solution, ie 5 tonnes of CO² per year.
Bourgoin-Jallieu: Demolition and reconstruction of a Eurovia works agency
The EJL agency in Bourgoin-Jallieu (38) is getting a makeover with the construction of a new building. 100m² of Power Road will be installed at the end of 2022 with the objective of heating and cooling a 700m² space. 10 tonnes of CO² will thus be saved annually compared to a gas solution, further reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% compared to an already efficient solution (VRV). The renewable energy share of the heating and air conditioning solution will amount to 80%.
Tarbes: Demolition and reconstruction of a Eurovia works agency
The La Routière des Pyrénées agency, located in Tarbes (65), is renovating its 585m² of offices. A 100m² Power Road road network will be installed to provide heating and cooling to the workspaces. The estimated benefits will save 13 tonnes of CO² per year compared to a gas solution.
These projects show the relevance of Power Road as a local renewable energy solution for the transition to low-carbon and optimized buildings, as well as its contribution to achieving France's climate objectives: renewable energies will have to cover 50% of the heat consumption from 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality in 2050.
