However, these issues are far from being treated as they should: despite the numerous alerts launched for several years, awareness is still largely insufficient.
Very involved in the field, Labaronne-Citaf has been providing water storage solutions to NGOs for more than 30 years to help them on a daily basis.
But faced with this state of emergency, the French company decided to go further by funding projects invested in the preservation of water. This resource is becoming the rarest and most precious on earth.
“As inventor of the flexible tank and manufacturer of storage solution, we wanted to mobilize more to protect it a little more.” underlines Nathalie Couinet, Communication Manager.
A collective adventure that is built every day
More than a supplier, Labaronne-Citaf is a trusted partner that its customers also choose for its commitment.
So for its 60th anniversary, Labaronne-Citaf has chosen to join forces with Solidarités International to support it in its fight “Drinking water for all” by funding its actions in Africa.
According to the 2019 Barometer of Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, there is indeed a real emergency: “between increasingly intense natural disasters, increasingly long conflicts and refugees from the humanitarian situation has become more and more alarming. There are always more people in need of help, shelter, food and especially clean water, clean water that will not kill them or make them sick ”.
Mr. Benoit Balandras, the current manager of Labaronne-Citaf, underlines:
Last year we manufactured and sold the equivalent of 230 liters of storage through our flexible tanks. This year we aim to reach 000 liters and benefit from it Solidarités International with whom we have been collaborating for several years. In particular, we regularly receive photos of their teams in the field, sometimes in very difficult situations. They therefore deserve our support beyond our sole role as supplier.
The choice of supporting only one NGO has, moreover, been carefully considered and is fully assumed, even if it was not simple. The objective of Labaronne-Citaf is to focus on a mission, to better measure its reach and to unite its teams around a common project.
There are also no small actions! “The first response to human suffering must be solidarity.” Alain Boinet, founder of Solidarités International.
Africa, the continent-cradle of the company's founder
Labaronne-Citaf has a very strong attachment to Africa, since it was on this earth that André-Lucien Labaronne, its founder, was born. In the 50s, this pioneer was at the origin of the invention of the flexible tank, a revolutionary means of water storage, both practical, easy to transport and very simple to implement.
It is precisely in Africa that water needs are the most significant. Where the question of water, in all its social, political, environmental and economic dimensions, weighs most heavily on the future of this beautiful continent.
While more than 5000 billion water sleeps in its groundwater, 844 million inhabitants still do not have access to drinking water. Consequently, the hygiene of life deteriorates, the social tensions are exacerbated and the state of health of the Africans continues to deteriorate.
Part of the sales donated to save, sanitize and make water accessible to all
Sensitive to the issue of water from its origins, Labaronne-Citaf undertakes to donate part of the sales made to Solidarités International for each liter of storage sold during the year.
And so that each customer can follow the progress of this operation, Labaronne-Citaf has set up a volumetric counter on its website, which displays in real time the capacities of the tanks sold during the year (https://www.labaronne-citaf.fr/mecenat/). Each purchase then becomes a gesture of solidarity!
Labaronne-Citaf customers thus participate in this cause and in turn become players in access to water for all!
60 years of innovations in the service of water
60 years ago, on July 17, André-Lucien Labaronne created the CITAF company. This visionary revolutionized the world of storage by inventing the flexible tank, a major innovation suitable for all uses; agricultural, industrial, etc.
To meet the expectations of its customers, Labaronne-Citaf stands out for its highly responsive French production: manufacturing of express express tanks, emergency management with stock, and supply of complete kits (mobile water treatment units, recovery rainwater, distribution booms, engineering, etc.)
Easily transportable once folded, robust and quickly projectable, flexible storage solutions become essential when it comes to organizing a humanitarian intervention.
Supplier for more than 30 years of the main NGOs, Labaronne-Citaf offers a complete and specific range of tanks and flexible basins for humanitarian emergencies, development aid missions, peacekeeping and reconstruction missions .
With, always, its (big) little extras that have forged the reputation of this flagship of French know-how throughout the world:
- rigorously controlled and tested products which guarantee the protection of resources, people and the environment.
- manufacturing that meets the requirements of ISO, and QB (formerly CSTBat) certifications for flexible fire tanks.
- a solid experience allowing a real capacity of adaptation: large volumes, development projects and even “sheep with 5 legs”, Labaronne-Citaf is a safe bet for all large-scale storage.
