By offering an INCREASED format thanks to digital, Reed Expositions France, Afisb[1] and Uniclima[2] also intend to support professionals throughout the year to help them seize all the opportunities in the sector and discover innovations.
More conviviality: the Mondial du Bâtiment returns to Paris
Since 2013, all requests have gone in this direction: to bring the Mondial du Bâtiment back to the heart of Paris. This is done for the 2022 edition, which is therefore reintegrating the renovated exhibition center at Porte de Versailles. This return is widely acclaimed since 93,6% of exhibitors and 97,9% of visitors have expressed their intention to come to the next edition of the shows.[3].
Scheduled from October 3 to 6, 2022, the Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima fairs will occupy 6 pavilions, or more than 140 m² of exhibition space.
In one single place, all professionals will have access to innovations, advice and demonstrations to experience and understand all the developments in their sector. But beyond these 4 days, the Mondial du Bâtiment also wants to animate the community of professionals and create links throughout the year thanks to a strategy that focuses on the complementarity of digital and physical presence.
More economical: the exhibitions bring a better return on investment for exhibitors Of the six pavilions that the Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima exhibitions will occupy, the new exhibition format limits the size of the stands to 99 m² per company, with the possibility of 'include a floor. It also simplifies the layout of the pavilions with multiple stand modules of 9. The areas planned for each stand thus range from 9 to 99 m², ie 9 m², 18 m², 36 m², 54 m² and 99 m².
This overhaul of the layout brings multiple advantages to exhibitors: choice of location upon registration, significant increase in return on investment (ROI) by reducing exhibition costs and moving to 4 days for all shows .
In addition, stands of 9, 18 and 36 m² will be offered with a range of turnkey layouts to be personalized. This novelty responds to a demand from exhibitors to simplify the preparation of exhibitions, and will improve logistics flows around the Porte de Versailles.
More hybrid: salons are digitizing to become augmented salons
For several years, the Mondial du Bâtiment and the Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima fairs have been engaged in an approach which aims to animate the community of professionals between two editions and not only over 4 days of physical presence. This anticipation has notably made it possible to acquire a strong expertise in terms of referencing on search engines such as Google, which professionals in the sector are using more and more.
Building on this experience, Reed Expositions France, Afisb and Uniclima will be offering “AUGMENTED” exhibitions from May 2021 thanks to a single blog. This will complement the use of websites dedicated to physical exhibitions by bringing together the business lines of the 3 Mondial du Bâtiment exhibitions. Professionals will be able to get in touch with the brands, give their opinion or their assessments and they will have tools adapted to their needs:
- Product sheets designed with e-commerce codes;
- A directory of suppliers, with the products / services offered;
- Virtual showrooms;
- Demo videos;
- Content on the trades that they will find at physical fairs.
Always upstream of the physical fairs, Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima are initiating a morning event, “The Mondial du Bâtiment meetings”. Broadcast on Batiradio in podcasts and in video format, it will decipher the major construction trends to animate communities and promote exchanges between professionals facing the challenges of the sector.
Finally, during the 4 days of the 2022 edition, the Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima fairs will offer a digital experience allowing remote attendance to a large part of the content of the physical fairs.

More engaged: salons are becoming more sober
The arrival at Porte de Versailles and the new expectations of visitors and exhibitors are also an opportunity for the Mondial du Bâtiment to launch an improvement process on fundamental CSR topics. Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima take their responsibilities and commit to 4 priority ambitions to make the 2022 edition an exemplary edition:
- Reduce carbon footprint : from 2022, the organizers of the Mondial du Bâtiment will measure the carbon footprint of the exhibitions and will implement a series of concrete actions including the optimization of logistics and transport processes, access to the site favoring ecological mobility, and '' eco-design of facilities, common areas and packaged stands.
- Improve waste management : with the ambition of ultimately achieving zero waste, the organizers of the Mondial du Bâtiment aim to reduce trade fair waste by at least 10% in 2022, increase the circularity of the materials used, improve the sorting system and better waste management thanks to analysis, traceability and management systems.
- Set up a responsible catering offer by fighting against waste and by managing surpluses, by promoting organic waste and by adopting responsible packaging and food.
- Focus on responsible purchasing by promoting purchases from the protected and adapted work sector (STPA), by integrating CSR criteria into purchasing policies and in particular in the choice of suppliers and by favoring products and services that are eco-designed and respectful of the environment.
“We are convinced that buildings, cities and territories will be at the center of societal transformations over the next ten years. And we are deeply convinced that our role is on the one hand to anticipate these changes and on the other hand to support professionals every day to help them seize all the opportunities that may be offered to them. It is with this ambition that we have redesigned the Mondial du Bâtiment and its 3 exhibitions. "
Guillaume Loizeaud, Director of Mondial du Bâtiment
With this innovative strategy combining physical and digital, the Batimat, Idéobain and Interclima fairs wish to bring together all professionals in the building sector and increase the number of exhibitors by 15% for the 2022 edition.
