Fire protection of steel structures by plates PROMATECT®-L500

Promat offers, thanks to its PROMATECT®-L500 silico-limestone plates, fire protection by enclosing metallic structures (horizontal or vertical).

In the construction, temperature rise in steel structures, as soon as they are subjected to a fire, causes a considerable weakening of their mechanical properties. Beyond a certain " critical temperature »(Relative to its loading rate), the structures can no longer fulfill their role of load-bearing elements.

This covering makes it possible to slow down very strongly the rate of heating of structures ensuring a load-bearing capacity (R) up to 4 hours.

Available in different thicknesses from 20 to 50 mm, these non-combustible plates (A1) have fire resistance certificates in accordance with European standards as well as a CE marking.

Another major advantage of this system, the quick and easy implementation, usually in a single layer, is carried out without any treatment at the joints. Thus, with a simple preparation, it can be carried out in occupied premises without causing nuisance related to noise and dust. Finally, for an aesthetic and neat rendering, the plates can receive an adequate finish.

In addition to its fire resistance performance, PROMATECT®-L500 has many other advantages: lightness, mechanical resistance, easy installation with conventional tools for wood panels, compliance with the RPC and assurance of compliance with environmental quality certified by a FDES sheet.

It should also be remembered that PROMATECT®-L500 is perfectly suited to the construction of ventilation and smoke extraction ducts, ceilings and horizontal screens.
