Fineo by AGC becomes the world's first and only CE-marked vacuum insulating glazing

As an innovative product, and therefore not standardised, vacuum insulating glazing, which does not have any harmonised EN standard, was not until now subject to CE marking.

As a reminder, the CE marking guarantees compliance with European safety, health and environmental protection standards, providing the legitimacy of easier market access and facilitating consumer confidence within the European Economic Area. This is why AGC has been involved in the long and complex EOTA (European Technical Assessment) process since 2018. While the European Technical Assessment for FINEO (ETA 20/00481) was published in 2020, the European Assessment Document (EAD 300021-00-04042) has just been published on 20/11/2024.

FINEO by AGC is now establishing itself as a pioneer and the only European manufacturer to set a precedent by obtaining the world's first voluntary CE marking for its vacuum insulating glazing.

Increasingly in demand on construction sites, high-performance vacuum insulating glazing allows, during renovation, to replace existing single and double glazing, while retaining the original frames. For new builds, the growing demand for building efficiency requires intelligent and innovative solutions in terms of sustainability, technology and design for which FINEO by AGC opens a new path, aligning with the energy performance of triple glazing while offering the lightness of a solution with unrivaled thinness (only 7,7 mm thick), and better acoustic performance.

The properties of FINEO by AGC, such as reaction to fire, resistance to loads, sound and thermal insulation performance and durability have been assessed by UBAtc - the Belgian Association for Technical Approval of Construction - and approved in ETA 20/0048.

It is also important to point out that FINEO by AGC is manufactured in Europe, in Lodelinsart, Belgium.
