FCBA and Würth France: shared objectives and ambition, around R&D
FCBA organizes its activities around a dual mission: to promote technological innovation and to participate in improving performance and guaranteeing quality in the forest-wood and furniture industrial sectors. The acquisition and dissemination of reliable and proven scientific and technical information, associated with the priority issue of the effective deployment of innovation, constitute one of its three major strategic orientations. FCBA positions itself as a privileged partner of companies, attentive to their technical and economic environment, to help them integrate technological innovations and adapt to rapidly changing markets.

It is in this context that he is now approaching Würth France, a specialist in assembly, connection and reinforcement systems in the field of wood, concrete and metal construction. Würth France indeed wishes to accelerate its technological developments around various challenges: understanding and modeling of complex structural assembly systems, in particular those combining several materials; support for innovation in connection, in particular, with the integration of industrial processes in a context of digital modeling of construction; development of design support tools…
The two actors thus strengthen their collaboration, within the framework of their activities related to construction and layout, around the material wood.
FCBA –Würth France partnership: orientations & programming
The committed partnership will revolve around 2 main axes:
- Identification of priority subjects for the market, making it possible to define and initiate collaborative R&D programs directly useful for the development and marketing, in the medium term, of concrete technical solutions and responses;
- Sharing and deployment of technical and scientific knowledge thus acquired, in the service of the development of the wood sector.
Several types of work will be implemented for this, throughout the partnership programmed over 3 years. So for example:
- In terms of technical support for the definition of collaborative R&D areas: beyond constant interaction with FCBA in terms of technology watch, Würth France will be able to contribute more broadly to R&D projects led by FCBA, via the supply materials and samples…;
- In terms of sharing information and expertise, at the service of the sector: FCBA will propose to Würth France to participate in specific working groups integrating themes related to the R&D projects carried out in collaboration. Conversely, Würth France will be able to provide FCBA with its expertise in the field, thus enriching the projects with feedback that is particularly useful for making the newly acquired technical knowledge more reliable.
