Exceptional year 2020 for Nexity with an 8% increase in turnover

The turnover reached 4,86 billion euros, a level higher than forecasts which placed it at 4,7 billion, according to a statement.

The first confinement strongly affected activity in the first half of the year but that of the second half "had no impact" with good progress of the sites, the signing of notarial acts and the marketing of major projects for the development segment. of business real estate, detailed the group.

2020 was for Nexity "an exceptional year in terms of commercial activity", told AFP its deputy managing director, Julien Carmona.

The group has achieved "a historic performance, while the French market is declining" both in its residential real estate branch and in its office property branch, he added.

In residential real estate, at the end of 2020, new housing reservations, a key indicator of the sector, were "at a level equivalent to 2019 (21.077 units compared to 21.837 units in 2019).

Nexity, already "number 1" in residential real estate, estimates that its market share for bookings made by developers fell from 13,5% to 17% in 2020, according to Mr. Carmona.

These figures are due, according to him, to three factors: the presence of the group throughout the territory, its ability to capture the very significant demand (+ 38%) coming from institutional investors (life insurance, Caisse des Dépôts ...) after "a long period" when they had left the housing sector and finally "a service approach" (manager, trustee ...) brought by the group to its customers.

In its business property development branch, the group indicates that its activity was "very sustained at the end of 2020 with the marketing of large operations" allowing it "to achieve a volume of order intake. of 1,47 billion euros, "the highest historical level (including 1,24 billion in the fourth quarter alone)".

In order to "focus" on its real estate development and real estate services businesses, Nexity also plans to sell in 2021 Aegide-Domitys, its subsidiary for the management of residences for the elderly without medical care.

For this year, the group is targeting "around 20.000 reservations for new housing in France in residential real estate and 400 million euros excluding tax for order intake in commercial property".
