Continue and support the development of the school

Jean-Louis Marchand shared with the administrators his vision for the school and the areas of work on which he wants to continue thinking and see the school progress.
Thus, Jean-Louis Marchand wants to strongly engage ESTP on the path of artificial intelligence (AI), both in the school's research and teaching activities. The objective is to develop ESTP's expertise on the uses of AI in construction processes, but also to integrate AI opportunities and tools into the school's teaching methods.
Furthermore, in a context of development of the competitive offer of training engineers and bachelors, Jean-Louis Marchand wishes to extend the school's reflection on its positioning and attractiveness. He also plans to explore new avenues of development, such as possible pooling with other schools, or the creation of a European network of construction schools.
Very attached to the social responsibility of the school, the newly elected president intends to expand the support offered to students for financing their studies. This will involve the development of new forms of support for students and in particular loan formulas that could involve their future employers.
Finally, the new president wanted to set up an expanded office of the board of directors to feed and coordinate the reflection and ensure its convergence with the overall strategy of the school. This expanded office is composed of:
- Mr. Jean-Louis Marchand, President,
- Mr. Samuel Minot, Vice-President,
- Mr. Géry Carot, treasurer,
- Mr. Jean-Pierre Paseri, secretary,
- Mr. Jean-Philippe Trin, Chairman of the Improvement Council,
- Mr. Philippe Monloubou, President of the Research Council,
- Mr. Jacques Huillard, President of the ESTP Foundation,
- Mr. Lionel Christolomme, President of ESTP Alumni.
These guidelines put forward by the new chairman of the ESTP board of directors are in line with the strategic axes of the 2026 roadmap and the ESTP 2030 plan, which should be re-examined in light of the evolution and current events in the sector:
- Continuing to adapt the training offer to the needs of businesses and to new environmental, scientific and societal challenges,
- Increased development of research activity and its visibility,
- Consolidation and deployment of international influence,
- Strengthening the school’s image and attractiveness.
Composition of the new board of directors
ESTP has changed the composition of its board of directors, which has increased from 22 to 30 members. This expansion allows it to welcome new members from professional federations in the construction sector. Students are also joining the board of directors, which is a concrete expression of ESTP's desire to integrate them into the school's governance.
The incoming directors to the board are as follows:
- Mr. Olivier Genis, former president of Eiffage Construction, appointed by the FFB,
- Ms Fabienne Viala, Chairwoman and CEO of Bouygues Construction in the United Kingdom (Bouygues UK), appointed by the FFB,
- Mr. Laurent Amar, member of the NGE executive committee, appointed by the FNTP,
- Mr. Olivier Tardy, CEO of ETPO SA, appointed by the FNTP,
- Mr. Eric Raffenne, engineering student at ESTP,
- Mr. Raphaël Rizzolio, bachelor student at ESTP.
The full list of ESTP administrators is available here, on the school website.
For Jean-Louis Marchand: "I would like to pay tribute to Hervé Le Bouc for his commitment, as administrator and then chairman of the board of directors of ESTP, and the work accomplished with Joël Cuny, its general director. The actions undertaken under his presidency allow the school to be well equipped today to face the strategic challenges that new technologies and the evolution of an increasingly competitive higher education system confront it with."
Having chaired the school's engineering curriculum development board for eleven years, Jean-Louis Marchand knows ESTP, its values, its commitments and its operations well. With a background in X-Télécom, he has in-depth knowledge of the construction sector in which he has pursued his career. Active in professional associations, he was a member of the board of the Franco-German University and president of the European Construction Industry Federation.
