Top250 2021: the ELCIA Group 86th largest French software publisher
A few months after the publication of the Truffle100 ranking, it is the turn of EY and Numeum (merger between Syntec Numérique and Tech in France) to publish their annual study of the software publisher sector in France. 86th in the general classification, ELCIA has gained 6 places in one year and confirms its progression among the best software publishers in the country! A trend which is also confirmed at the sectoral level, in which ELCIA gleans 9 additional places to rank 48th.
Another confirmation: this year again, the strategy of the ELCIA Group is in line with the trend of the largest French software publishers, giving pride of place to the SaaS model, investment in R&D (22% of publishers' turnover is devoted to it) , openness to international markets (59% of publishers' turnover achieved internationally) and to external growth (18% of French publishers carried out an external growth operation in 2020).
French software publishers in the top 250 2021 growing despite the crisis
In addition to the ranking, the study conducted by EY and Numeum as part of Top250 2021 provides a complete panorama of the software publishing sector in France for the year 2020. First observation, the sector has been spared by the health crisis and economical. With growth of + 9% (compared to + 7% in 2019), it confirms its good health for yet another year. A dynamic that should herald a record year 2021 in terms of growth, since more than one software publisher in two plans to achieve revenue growth of more than 10%.
A dynamic sector which is recruiting in 2021!
Another theme at the heart of the concerns of French software publishers: recruitment! The workforce of French software publishing companies increased by 8% in 2020 (more than 214 jobs in the sector). A slight decrease compared to 000 (+ 2019%) which is explained by a year 12 marked by COVID (even if the sector is one of those most spared) but also by recruitment difficulties. 2020% of French publishers say they have difficulty recruiting (compared to 83% in 72), in particular for technical profiles.
Driven by its good health and its need to recruit new talents to always innovate, the sector expects a strong acceleration in recruitments! Recruitment will even be one of the key words since 85% of publishers plan to hire and increase their workforce over the coming year.
