Edilteco renovates social housing with an ITE of 5.000 m² thanks to the Edil-Therm® system

ALVADOS HABITAT, owner of the buildings, has chosen to undertake major energy rehabilitation and renovation works for all 5 buildings housing 109 homes.

The objectives of the work program are the significant and lasting improvement in the comfort of housing and the living environment of the inhabitants of the neighborhood, the attractiveness of housing in the city as well as the reduction of energy consumption and cost of charges for customers. .

Edilteco - French manufacturer of innovative exterior thermal insulation systems (ETICS), as well as polystyrene sheets for ITE systems - contributed to the renovation of the 5000 m² of facade with its EDIL-Therm® PSE solution: exclusive and measure for external thermal insulation of all types of buildings with thin plaster.

The benefits of a renovation project

For over a year, the Clos Saint-Nicolas renovation site in Bayeux has been sketching a new face for the 5 buildings and restoring their heritage value.

The architectural firm “Millet Chilou & Associés”, which supervises the site, has drawn up the work plans in order to enhance the architecture of Clos Saint-Nicolas thanks to the aesthetic and thermal rehabilitation of the facades and the upgrading of the electrical system to standards. and buildings.

The design work ended with the refurbishment of the entrance halls and common areas.

Built in 1970, the 109 social housing units at Clos Saint-Nicolas are
precast concrete buildings with gravel without any external insulation. After a technical and thermal diagnosis as well as a survey carried out with each tenant, CALVADOS HABITAT opts for the implementation of external thermal insulation, the replacement of all exterior joinery and roller shutters, the repair of waterproofing balcony tops and complete waterproofing of flat roofs for a total budget of € 2.

5 m² of ITE with the EDIL-Therm® PSE system

It was the RAVALNUANCES company from Saint Malo, chosen for the renovation of the facades, which proposed the EDIL-Therm® PSE system.

“EDIL-Therm® PSE is an interesting product because of its ease of implementation and its energy efficiency. I discovered the product at my wholesaler Accès Peintures in Bretteville-sur-Odon (14), which is a specialist in materials for beautification and renovation work, ”specifies Serge Jardin of RAVALNUANCES.

After surveying the facades for masonry recovery, RAVALNUANCES implemented EDIL-Therm® PSE expanded polystyrene sheets. These plates consist directly of a base layer associated with a fiberglass frame, a printing layer and a thin finish, which here is available in white and chocolate for the facades and brown for the bases .

Begun in February 2015, the energy rehabilitation and renovation work on the 109 housing units at Clos Saint-Nicolas will be completed in July 2016. This is a fine example of social housing renovation for which all of the work aims the HPE Renovation level "High Energy Performance Renovation" and will significantly improve the thermal and acoustic comfort of housing, which will drop from 270 kWh / m² per year to 150 kWh / m².
