DuPontTM Tyvek®, a unique technology…
Invented and manufactured by DuPont, DuPontTM Tyvek® is a nonwoven material that has established itself for nearly 60 years in many industrial sectors as diverse as protective clothing and construction.
The result of an exclusive production technology, it is made up of millions of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) microfibers, heat-bonded together randomly and omnidirectionally by the flash spinning process. It is the latter that allows it to offer a unique functional layer with exceptional properties.
…at the service of unparalleled performance
The proven performance of DuPont materialTM Tyvek® lies in its design and in its intrinsic qualities which give it unalterable longevity and durability over time, including:
- its waterproof properties thanks to its breathable structure that is always permeable to water vapor and its excellent impermeability. Effective barrier against water infiltration (rain, snow), DuPont underlay screensTM Tyvek® prevent the formation of condensation and prevent moisture from penetrating the insulation under the roof, even in extreme climatic conditions,
- its unfailing robustness. Beyond its high mechanical resistance (perforation, tearing, abrasion), DuPontTM Tyvek® has excellent resistance to UV and heat (up to temperatures of 100°C), the main factors affecting the effectiveness of underlay screens,
- its great lightness and flexibility which not only facilitate its transport on the construction sites but also guarantee a speed of implementation. So many assets that make it a revolutionary underlayment screen and have today led EDILIANS to be entrusted with the distribution of DuPontTM Tyvek® membranes in France.
An even more complete Edilians offer for ever more lasting protection
By becoming a distributor of DuPont technical productsTM Tyvek® combining quality and durability, EDILIANS is expanding its airtightness range with:
- 3 HPV breathable underlay screens (Highly Permeable to Water Vapor) which allow optimal humidity regulation and thus minimize the risk of condensation. Among them, let us mention Tyvek® Toiture 90 which consists of a functional membrane in High Density Polyethylene reinforced by a layer of polypropylene. With or without integrated adhesive strip for guaranteed windtightness, it is placed directly stretched on the rafters with a maximum center distance of 90 cm, on the insulation or a decking. Benefiting from the QB certification mark of the CSTB (classified E1-Sd1-Tr3), it has a high mechanical resistance to traction as well as tearing at the nail,
- 4 HPV rain shields including Tyvek® FireCurb with flame retardant (reaction to fire B-s1, d0). Self-extinguishing, it combines an HDPE layer with a fire-retardant coating. Incorporating all the well-known characteristics of Tyvek® (windproof and waterproof, flexible, durable, etc.), it is distinguished by its very light weight (65g/m2) which greatly facilitates its installation on facades,
- 5 vapor barriers including Airguard A2 FR, complete system consisting of fiberglass mesh laminate with lacquered aluminum foil and adhesive tape. Fire-retardant, the assembly is A2-s1-d0 fire rated, thus allowing its installation in all types of buildings. In addition to exceptional airtightness performance and helping to improve thermal insulation, it offers high resistance to water vapor by limiting interstitial condensation, which makes it particularly suitable for applications where there is a high level of humidity (swimming pools, etc.).
All have a 4-month weather resistance, tested in real conditions by an accredited independent laboratory* which certifies that DuPont solutionsTM Tyvek® remain functional much longer, whatever the weather conditions. This is why they benefit from levels of guarantee well above the ten-year period (15 or 25 years depending on the product).
A real guarantee of peace of mind for EDILIANS' roofing partners and of longevity for their customers with regard to the absolute watertightness of the roof and walls of their building!
