Located at 25 rue du Jour, the Hôtel de la Porte is an architectural gem dating from the 17th century. The facade of the hotel, the decoration of the grand staircase and the ceiling of a former lounge located on the first floor have been listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments since 1926. The building has housed the museum and the headquarters of the Paris Bar.
This 4-storey building now consists of ten unique apartments, divided into three types (25 m²; 55 m²; 75 m²), for a total area of 868 m².
The entire layout has been entrusted to Selency, a partner of Edgar Suites. A specialist in second-hand furniture, Selency offers an alternative to new equipment, thus helping to preserve the planet's raw materials.
Stamp of the old and contemporary comfort
Feeling at home elsewhere: this has been the philosophy of Edgar Suites since its creation. In the residence at 25 rue du Jour, Edgar Suites has signed a large-scale rehabilitation project, combining old charm and modern comfort.
For this achievement, Edgar Suites was surrounded by the architectural firm Pierre Audat et Associés. The budget for the work for this transformation is estimated at €1.850.000.
"We find in this residence the fundamentals of old Paris - old stones, wrought iron, listed staircase - but also all the comfort expected by our demanding foreign clientele, wishing to live a travel experience in the heart of a historic district, explains Xavier O 'Quin, President of Edgar Suites. Foreign customers come for long stays, the choice of location is essential! he adds.
Edgar Suites, a sustainable approach
Since 2016, Edgar Suites has been reinventing the hotel residence in a desire for sustainable tourism. The company restores commercial value to obsolete office buildings through a change of use and comprehensive support (administrative procedures, work, etc.).
In addition, by favoring small-scale assets in the heart of cities, the company contributes to reducing the impact of travel on the environment and the daily lives of residents, while forging partnerships with local merchants.
For Xavier O'Quin: “Today, 7 out of 10 files that we examine do not fit our model. Square meters are not decisive in our search for assets. We target obsolete buildings where to add value. It is the usefulness and effectiveness of the plans that matter to us. »
In five years, Edgar Suites has seen its number of suites under management increase from 10 to 150, spread between Paris and Bordeaux. After a successful fundraising of 104 million euros in May 2020, the company plans to manage 700 suites in 2026, expanding its activity to the main French cities. Edgar Suites thus announces the opening of a residence for the last quarter of 2022 in Paris Montmartre in a former hotel rehabilitated in its "Urban Suites" format and its first suites in Montrouge in a 2.000 m² residence as well as in Lille and Cannes for 2023.
In addition, the policy of acquiring real estate assets for own account initiated in 2021 is materializing with a first acquisition of a 2.000 m² real estate complex in the process of being signed in Levallois-Perret.
