Small and medium-sized businesses can thus invest in their own renewable energy production tool, without initial contribution, while retaining their own funds for their main activity.
Solar self-consumption within the reach of VSEs-SMEs-PMIs
For Benjamin Declas, President of EDF ENR: “The growth potential for photovoltaics is immense in the small and medium-sized business segment. This growth can be explained by the desire of companies to control energy costs, reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to the general energy transition effort. To support them, we have developed an innovative solution that allows them to simply finance their installation through the savings generated on their electricity consumption. Building, parking and/or free land: this turnkey offer is aimed at any organization which has a surface area of at least 100m². »
Profitability guaranteed from the first year
With this turnkey offer, the solar panels are offered for rental by EDF ENR for a period of 10 years and the rents are included in the companies' tax-deductible operating expenses. They are financed by the energy savings made, offering a prospect of profitability from the first year. In the event of production exceeding the electricity requirement, the surplus injected into the network results in remuneration for the customer.
This offer is accompanied by a complete operation and maintenance contract with production guarantee. At the end of the rental period, companies can become owners of their installation for a symbolic €1 (a photovoltaic plant produces over 30 years).
The offer is aimed at any organization which has a surface area of at least 100 m². It can be deployed on buildings, car parks or even free land: an opportunity for companies to increase the value of their land and real estate while demonstrating their CSR commitment.
Customer testimonial: Gaetan Chanchez, owner of a Carrefour Contact
A first project has just been finalized in Condat in Cantal (15) where Gaetan Sanchez, owner of a Carrefour Contact since 2022, is today renting 125 panels with a total power of 51,15 MWp in order to achieve 30% savings on your electricity bill.
For Gaetan Chanchez: “On the environmental level, we had this idea of making our contribution for a long time and then I became aware of the subject for a long time, because my parents had equipped the family home. But it was our latest invoices that pushed us to take the plunge despite our recent arrival in the sector. After a career as an employee in distribution, I decided to become a franchisee in 2016. After obtaining the necessary funds, I decided to take over a Carrefour Contact in Cantal in July 2022, so I have 3 cold rooms including one negative and refrigerators which run 24/24.000 all year round in the store. In two years, I have seen my bills soar from 60.000 to 65.000 euros with a trend towards 125 today, it's just not sustainable. When I met my EDF ENR contact, we took stock of consumption peaks and our uses throughout the year to best adapt the installation. Today, I have 250 panels which occupy 2 m400 of a roof of just over 2 m51,15 and we should produce 30 MWp. The objective is to achieve 15.000% energy savings through self-consumption, i.e. a reduction of at least 15 euros per year. To which it will be necessary to add a little resale on the network. In a global approach, I also equipped my refrigerators with doors and I noticed a 741% reduction in my energy consumption through this simple gesture. The idea is to halve our bills and gradually regain the balance we started with. With the EDF ENR offer dedicated to small businesses for 10 euros per month, it will therefore be profitable from the first month of production... Beyond 30 years, it will be very beneficial knowing that the panels are under warranty for 20 years and inverters XNUMX years. In the end, I think that self-consumption is an excellent solution that must be democratized and I hope that other colleagues from all sectors will be as forward-thinking and aware of the energy of tomorrow. »
