EDF ENR is building the largest self-consumption park in France for Sodebo

An initiative carried out in close collaboration with EDF ENR

This photovoltaic park, unique in France for its surface area, will produce the equivalent of 11% of Sodebo's total annual consumption, ie the consumption of 1280 houses of 100 m2 in electric heating over one year. With EDF ENR, a subsidiary of EDF, the company wishes to increase its share of electricity from renewable sources, as well as its energy autonomy: a choice that makes sense for the Vendée company which has always favored internalisation as a mode of functioning.

First commissioning from November 2023

The installation of the photovoltaic panels, which will be spread over different areas of its 124-hectare site, will begin in the fall of 2023.

Initially, photovoltaic carports will be installed on some of its car parks for commissioning in November this year. The second part of the installation will follow in April 2024 and will concern the installation of photovoltaic panels directly on the ground.

As such, we are piloting a clear roadmap of which energy is one of the priority subjects. This photovoltaic park is a long-term project that we opened in 2020 and it is today a real satisfaction for us to see the work start. And work there will be others! The roofs of our future buildings will all have photovoltaic panels and we are also planning the installation of charging stations for electric and hybrid cars for our company vehicles and for the personal vehicles of our employees. »
