Soil waterproofing increased by 7,8% between 1990 and 2000. This increases sanitation costs, increases flood risks, and contributes to the pollution of groundwater and waterways. In response to this situation, ECOVEGETAL offers a wide range of solutions to make parking lots permeable. To date, ECOVEGETAL has created more than 5 million m² of permeable parking lots.
The ECOVEGETAL MIXTE system, implemented for the Poitiers University Hospital, combines ECOVEGETAL MOUSSES (fully permeable pre-vegetated slabs) and ECOVEGETAL PAVE (concrete paving stones integrated into ECORASTER BLOXX hollow core slabs made from recycled plastic). These solutions allow 100% rainwater to infiltrate. ECOVEGETAL MOUSSE and ECOVEGETAL PAVE have a zero surface runoff coefficient validated by CEREMA. For the Poitiers University Hospital, a total of 1.600 m2 have been stabilized and will promote biodiversity.
The substrate of ECOVEGETAL MOUSSES slabs, made from recycled crushed terracotta, is specifically amended. It encourages the gradual installation of extensive, low-lying vegetation adapted to harsh usage conditions. This system is suitable for creating draining parking lots for intensive use, traffic lanes, or pedestrian walkways. Among the many advantages of ECOVEGETAL MIXTE, we note the possibility of creating a creative layout. Thanks to this installation, parking spaces are clearly demarcated and benefit from a touch of greenery.
