Durieu at the wood crossroads: genesis of reception work

Kilian Choloux, who became a Journeyman Carpenter in March 2023, fell “into the carpentry” as a child! At the age of 10, during his parents' renovation work in their house, he discovered carpentry work, he was fascinated and the passion began...

At a very young age, as soon as he was old enough to do internships, he did carpentry internships in the summer. At the age of 15 he chose the CAP carpenter route then the BTP CFA in carpentry. At the age of 18, his BTA trainer, after detecting in him the values ​​and abilities to integrate the Companions, advised him to follow this new path. This is how Kilian joined the Compagnons du Devoir and the Tour de France when he turned 18 in 2018.

His tour of France begins, he begins with Angers - where he is from - then Grenoble, Gap, Bayonne, Paris, Tours where he will carry out his reception work, then Reims and Dijon. From September 2024, he will become a Companion trainer while continuing his tour of France until 2026, 8 years of roaming to become a Companion, acquire and perfect his know-how then finally pass it on. He will then be ready to live his adventure as a professional carpenter.

Its reception work, which took the form of a trestle, was made of ash and oak and represented 510 hours of work.
