Unilin Insulation's trilatteCONFORT panels transform a warehouse into a detached house

Transform an old warehouse into a modern detached house of more than 250 m2: a complex site in itself - asbestos roof to be deposited and evacuated, among others - in a context that was not less, with a school just opposite and terraced constructions.

Despite this restrictive layout, requiring the use of a 35-ton arm crane for installation, the architectural firm Philippe Regelsperger selected the trilatteCONFORT roof panels developed by UNILIN Insulation. For the architect, the interest of this solution lay in its competitiveness in terms of price, as well as in its triple function - insulation, roofing support and finishing - which eliminated, in fact, a step in the installation. Decisive arguments that played in favor of this seasoned pre-machined housing.

Double thermal and sound insulation

The COMFORT trilatte roofing panels incorporate double insulation - thermal with polyurethane and sound insulation with denser rock wool -, an HPV (Highly Permeable to Water Vapor) roofing screen acting as a rain barrier , as well as a framework of three rafters carrying on either side of the insulators (large span between purlins). In terms of performance, this high-end product, among the thickest of UNILIN Insulation (25 cm), presents a thermal resistance of 9 m2.K / W, while its acoustic performance LiA is 38 dB (reduction by three of the impact noise caused by rain or hail).

Decorative underside

Another advantage and not least in the composition of trilatteCONFORT: the smooth underside of the panel can receive more than fifteen interior decorative options, namely raw wood, textured materials, semi-finished or complete finish, this no longer requiring no intervention.

Here, the complete and high-end EXPRIM finish, in Ural Blond poplar, was selected. Result: a neat and qualitative interior design.

The thirty boxes, 800 mm wide and 7 meters long, were installed from the ridge in just two days. Or a significant saving of time on the site. The whole was then covered by a standing seam zinc covering, also installed by the company Greenstep.

Various configurations

Note, a whole range of accessories facilitates installation: foam for connection between panels for waterproofing, fixing systems, or foam strips to be placed on the underside for sliding without deterioration of the boxes on the frame. In addition, all configurations are possible: knot and hip cuts, roof overhangs, roof windows, chimney passages ...

In the end, no less than 200 m2 of panels were installed, participating in this exceptional renovation, which also won an award at the last Batimat Fair.
