DPE and energy renovation: property owners are mobilizing

The new DPE, set up by the Climate and Resilience law, now takes into account the level of CO2 released by real estate, but also the level of insulation and the heating system. Say goodbye to gas and oil boilers. G-rated accommodation is now considered 'indecent' and unsuitable for rental.

These properties will be withdrawn from the rental market because the owners have neither the time nor the money to undertake heavy work to bring them up to standard, in a context of shortage of materials and labour.

The owners, aware of the environmental stakes and of their responsibility in this development, are ready to agree to a great deal of effort. But the addition is too heavy in the state.

The voice of owners must be heard. The UNPI represents 25 million property owners.

For Christophe Demerson, the president of the UNPI: “We cannot place the burden of energy renovation on property owners alone, who are already overtaxed by a historic increase in local taxes. The impact of energy renovation will affect everyone: owners and tenants! Between the properties withdrawn from the rental market and the rising rents to compensate for the costs related to the renovation, there will be no winner! »

Faced with growing concern and numerous alerts coming from all over the country, the UNPI is launching a major call for mobilization: a petition to confront the government with reality and with its responsibilities.

In this petition, the UNPI asks that all energy renovation work undertaken by property owners - occupants as well as lessors - be fully tax deductible.
